1) "The 5 Types of Wealth" by Sahil Bloom

Everyone thinks success means being wealthy. But there are actually 5 types of wealth: time, social, mental, physical, and financial. Read this book to learn about all 5 types and how to achieve them.

2) "The Expectation Effect" by David Robson

Think of this book as the science behind visualization or manifestation. In it, the author explains how our beliefs shape our reality. A must-read for anyone interested in psychology, neuroscience, or mindset.

3) "The Enchanted Hour" by Meghan Gurdon
This book is all about the health and life benefits that come from reading books. If you love books about books or need to motivation to spend more time reading, check out this book.

4) "The Art of Spending Money" by Morgan Housel

Morgan teaches readers to see money as a tool for freedom, happiness, and meaning–and how to spend money wisely and achieve maximum joy and fulfillment from it.

5) "How to Breakup With Your Phone" by Catherine Price

We're all addicted to our phones. This book will shock you with the negative effects of our phones, but more importantly, teach you how to decrease your screen time and scrolling addiction.

6) "Before and After the Book Deal" by Courtney Maum

If you're an aspiring author or an author who just got a book deal, this book is a fantastic guide as you navigate your author journey. It also includes advice from 150+ authors.

Here are his 12 reading rules that he lives by:

1) You should always be carrying a book. If you bring one, or have one loaded on your phone, you’ll read it…instead of using your phone. 

2) A lot of people read, not enough people re-read. Don’t just read books, re-read books. There’s a great line the Stoics loved—that we never step in the same river twice. The books don’t change, but you do.

3) Don’t be a book snob. I find myself sometimes reluctant to read the latest super popular book. That snobbishness never serves me well. More often than not, when I get around to those bestsellers I kick myself—they were bestsellers for a reason! They’re great!

4) If a book sucks, stop reading it. The best readers actually quit a lot of books. You turn off a TV show if it’s boring. You stop eating food that doesn’t taste good. You unfollow people when you realize their content is useless. Life is too short to read books you don’t enjoy reading.

5) “What’s a book that changed your life?” is a question that will change your life. Ask people you admire for book recommendations. Emerson’s line was, “If we encounter a man of rare intellect, we should ask him what books he reads.”

6) Cool titles usually make for crappy books (I wish this wasn’t true but it is). Conversely, some of the best books have terrible titles (we just did a video on this of some of my favorites).

7) Look for wisdom, not facts. We’re not reading to just find random pieces of information. What’s the point of that? We’re reading to accumulate a mass of true wisdom—that you can turn to and apply in your actual life.

8) When great readers read, they ask themselves a simple question: What do I plan to do with this information?

9) When you find an author you love, read ALL the books they’ve written.

10) If you see a book you want, buy it. Don’t worry about the price. Reading is not a luxury. It’s not something you splurge on. It’s a necessity. Even if all you get is one life-changing idea from a book, that’s still a pretty good ROI.

11) Speed reading is a scam. You just have to spend a lot of time reading.

12) Your nightstand should be ambitious. Don’t just build a library, build an anti-library—a stack of unread books that humbles you and reminds you just how much there is still to learn.

2024 was one of the worst years of my life BUT 2025 was one of the best.

Here’s a short recap of my 2025:

-Signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster
-Started hosting author meetups (since I didn’t know how to write a book)
-Ended up hosting 40 author meals and met 150+ authors
-Read 80 books this year
-Proposed to my girlfriend in Paris
-Climbed mountains in Poland
-Spoke at two conferences
-Met several of my heroes including James Clear and Andrew Huberman
-Got a shoutout on one of my favorite podcasts

It’s crazy how one year can suck but the next can make up for it several times over.

Does anyone else still prefer reading physical books over ebooks or audiobooks?

This is Patrick Bet-David (Patrick Bet-David).

He's the creator of Valuetainment, sold his company for $300 million, and has read 1,000+ books.

Here are 13 tips from him on how to read more books:

1. Always go to bed with a book next to you. 

It should be the first thing you do when you wake up and the last thing you do before you go to sleep. The great thing about reading books in bed is they never leave you when you wake up.

2. Instead of taking a shower, take a bath. 

This allows you to pour yourself a glass of wine, relax, and read a book and enjoy yourself.

3. Every day, take a 20-minute break. 

I've been doing this for as long as I can remember. I love doing this because no one ever interrupts me in the middle of the day saying I have an appointment. I get a chance to read for 20 minutes.

4. Always have books downloaded on your mobile device. This gives you the opportunity to have a book with you no matter where you are.

5. Always have a headset with you so you can listen to audiobooks. My recommendation is to listen to biographies on audiobooks and everything else on regular books.

6. Always read while exercising. I can't think of how many books I've finished just in the gym alone.

7. Turn off all the notifications on your phone. Each notification can distract you from reading your book.

8. Share what you've learned with friends.

The best way to retain the information you get from any book is to share it with somebody else immediately.

9. Don't listen to music with lyrics while reading.

There's nothing wrong with listening to Hans Zimmer, Mozart, or white noise while reading, but your brain will get confused if you're trying to read a book and listen to Jay-Z or Justin Bieber at the same time.

10. Read multiple books at the same time.

To prevent your brain from getting bored, I suggest reading three different types of books simultaneously: a biography, a novel, and a business book.

11. Take notes and highlight while reading.

I love seeing readers who carry around books with a lot of wear and tear because it tells me that person isn't just reading the book; they're studying it. They're taking notes, highlighting things, and marking passages. This allows you to revisit the book three, six, or twelve months later to reread the content and retain that information.

12. Join a book club.

One of the great things about being part of a book club is that it allows you to see what others read in the book that you might have missed. It also helps you become accountable to a group of people with whom you're reading.

13. Encourage others to read.

I believe our mind or brain is by far the most powerful computer in the world, and many people don't use it to its full potential. This is why I believe there's nothing like encouraging others to read. When we do, and they start realizing the possibilities of what they're capable of doing, that's when their eyes open up to a whole new life.

The journey almost every reader goes through.

You enjoy reading books as a kid, then you're forced to read a ton of books you don't care about throughout school, and then one day you find a book that resparks your love for reading.

People are tired of spending their entire day on their phones and have realized doomscrolling is destroying their attention span and motivation.

Instead, people will start picking up books again, rediscover the magic of reading, rebuild their attention spans, and encourage others to read more.
