13 Marathons in 12 months DONE!!!

I set out to run these thirteen marathons for one reason, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. 

Cancer has taken a lot from my family, as it has from many others, and this felt like something useful I could actually do

There is nothing quite as brutal as watching someone you love fade. Cancer takes away the sufferer’s strength, certainty, personality and dignity, and it does it inch by inch. Macmillan are the people who walk into that darkness and help families hold it together. They are the real heroes of this story

Macmillan are the people who show up when everything is frightening and confusing. They make an unbearable time slightly more manageable. That is real work, and they deserve every bit of support they get

What has stood out this year is not the training or the distance, it is the people who backed it, the donations, support and messages. The people who shared the link, the quiet encouragement, none of it was showy. It was just decent people being decent

To everyone who donated, thank you. Your money goes straight to the people who need it

To everyone who encouraged or checked in, thank you. Those small messages helped more than you probably realised

P.S As I crossed the final finish line this weekend, I started tallying up what this year has actually looked like in numbers. Not the romantic, inspirational stuff, but the real stuff. The sticky, blister-ridden, chemically-assisted reality:

What a year 2025 has been for myself and Flow State Sales

This has been our biggest year on record and we have built some incredible partnerships..

Although we've worked with lots of different companies, these companies are made up of people and it's the people that always make it worth the while

I wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the folks that we have collaborated with us in 2025. You have trusted us to navigate change, help improve people and build on the brilliant results that you have already achieved!

Raff and I have also been quietly building a whole new arm of our business which we will be talking about in 2026. It has been tough, challenging but ultimately very, very rewarding 

Although many of you are probably sick and tired of me bleating on about it on LinkedIn, but I have also spent the year running 13 marathons in 12 months for charity..

This has also been the hardest yet one of the most rewarding things I have done and I will keep this experience with me forever

Last night Raffael Fernandes and I spent the evening learning about the research for Brent and Karl Schmidt's fantastic new book The Framemaking Sale

In my opinion, Brent has been responsible for some of the best research to come out about modern selling. 

Brent has already given us The Challenger Sale and The Challenger Customer...

However, I think The Framemaking Sale is even more significant..

We do not talk about customer confidence enough and it is one of the biggest predictors for winning an opportunity, and more crucially the customer being happy with their decision

The single biggest win any sales org can have moving into 2026 is optimising for customer confidence, and Brent & Karl give the blueprint not just in the book but in the fantastic workshops and Keynotes they deliver too
