47G is the world’s premier ecosystem for aerospace and defense. We bring together academic institutions, service providers, government, and community partners to foster talent, fund entrepreneurship, and fuel innovation in Utah, America’s deep tech frontier.

As the Marketing and Events Manager, I have the privilege of telling the stories of 47G- and of our 200 member organizations- and show Utah, and the world, the innovative and inspiring stories that are shaping the future.

Heare Brotherhood

Mission: To forge a global brotherhood of support and growth, through wellness principles and transformational experiences.
Since launching in May 2023:
* More than 15,000 people have signed our brotherhood oath, pledging to be their brothers keeper while also promising to reach out when they are in need.
* We’ve held 100+ events, both in-person and virtual. In 6 different states
* We've launched multiple apparel collections
* We've officially become a global brotherhood, with representation from every habitable continent and 50+ countries
* We held our first official Heare retreats in Midway, UT; Franklin, ID, & Virgin, UT (near Zion’s National Park) 
* We launched the Heare Brotherhood app (available on App Store + Google Play Store), which now has more than 7,000 members.

We are building a community of men who are there for one other. Where men are free to express and also to listen.

⭐️Led the efforts to rebrand the College from LDS Business College to Ensign College, including changing the name, visual identity, environmental graphics/look-and-feel of the physical campus, creating college traditions, & more.
⭐️As part of the rebrand, it included rebranding the school restaurant from the BC Cafe to The Summit Grill, and the bookstore to The Outpost, and updating their visual identity
⭐️Managed and mentored a team of employees (Design, Video, Social Media, Photo, and Project Managers) 
⭐️Unified departments that had previously needed mending in their relationship with the MarComm department
⭐️Created strategy and ideation for all creative and communications products
⭐️Advocated for and implement the Ensign brand in all communications
⭐️Was a member of the Employee Innovation Grant Committee to advertise and approve applications for extra innovative projects to bless the lives of employees and students alike
⭐️Worked directly with and developed relations with all vendors (environmental graphics, College-branded swag, digital and print ads, radio, digital marketing, etc.)
⭐️Delivered and presented strategy/objectives/creative to internal departments

👁 Planned and coordinated efforts for the 30-Year Anniversary benefit concert in the Philippines, which included artists and influencers such as David Archuleta, Dwayne Woolley, JBK, Mikee Misalucha, & Anton Antenorcuz
👁 Directed the most successful CharityVision video to date- "Physical Sight, Spiritual Sight"- for the 2017 #LightTheWorld campaign (see video below)
👁 Rebranded CharityVision, Mabuhay Deseret Foundation, SightBuddies, & CharityVision clinics around the world to reflect more of it's story and purpose

As the Director of Content & Creative at 47G, I lead creative and brand strategy efforts to tell the story of Utah’s growing aerospace, defense, and cyber ecosystem. I get to showcase the groundbreaking work of our partners-industry leaders like Northrop Grumman, Hypercraft, and Fortem Technologies-who are shaping the future of space, aeronautics, and national security.

My background spans branding, content strategy, and experiential marketing. I’ve consulted on brand identity, photography, and social media strategy, helping companies refine their presence and connect with their audience. 

I also have experience in transformational facilitation, using experiential therapy and coaching techniques to create meaningful change in individuals and organizations.

I thrive at the intersection of creativity and strategy, crafting narratives that inspire, engage, and drive impact.

Just another day third-wheeling with Peyton Manning and my wife…

HA! Kelli and I both laughed pretty hard at this picture because they look like the couple and I’m the awkward guy that happened to get in the photo with them. 😂

For real though- what an honor to have Peyton come to Utah and join us for 47G’s Zero Gravity Summit last week. To say it was legendary would be an understatement.

I was surprised by how down-to-earth and inspiring he was. I especially loved this quote from him during his fireside chat with Aaron Starks:

“Just because you’re the quarterback, CEO, manager, [or] president, doesn’t make you a leader automatically. You have to earn the mantle of leadership. And I think leadership, when you break it down, is really the ability to influence. If you can’t influence your team, it’s awfully hard to lead that team. And I think to be influential, you have to earn the trust of the people you’re trying to lead. And you can’t rush that process.” 

I felt this in my bones.

This is the third verse from one of my favorite hymns, “How Firm a Foundation”, and it really struck me today as we were singing it. 

Sometimes we just feel like we don’t know how to handle a situation; or a relationship; or a bad habit; or something completely outside our control.

And the answer to all of it is in verse seven:

The soul that on Jesus 
      hath leaned for repose
I will not, I cannot, 
      desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell
      should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, 
       I’ll never, no never,
I’ll never, no never, 
      no never forsake!

No matter the trial, I’m so grateful to be able to “lean on Jesus for repose”.

Even after I’ve been ignoring Him, or not giving Him the time I want to give, He somehow welcomes me in and allows me to lean on Him.

You’ve never gone too far to receive God’s help and love.

I was really excited to post my picture with Peyton Manning and Nikki Haley from 47G: Aerospace & Defense’s Zero Gravity Summit, but something weird has happened:

I'm not as excited to post those as I am to post the ones with the people in these photos. 

Don’t get me wrong. I loved every second of their chats. They are very impressive, and I loved learning from them. And I’m still posting the pictures haha.

But these first pictures are the ones that bring up the most emotion for me, that represent the magnitude of what we just experienced. 

The amount of people it takes to put something like Zero Gravity Summit on successfully, is just so crazy to me. But you can tell in the way it was all executed. 

I could write an individual post about everyone in these photos and how they inspire me.

But specifically, I want to shout out Nicole Witmyer (Hopkins). Over the almost-year of working together, I have seen one of the greatest masterclasses of leadership I’ve ever seen or read about. Especially as we have prepared for this.

She’s a strong leader who leads with empathy, but who isn’t afraid to tell the truth, and to correct when it is needed. 

She is a servant-leader who is in the trenches with you, taking stuff off your plate and getting her hands dirty, all while managing and directing multiple agencies and people. 

And in the rare moments that she doesn’t know what to do, she always figures it out.

Nicole, congratulations on executing on this monumental task, and doing it with grace and humility. Thank you for your leadership. I am so honored to be alongside you in this.

I can’t wait to continue watching you lead and change the world.

Can you help me be the best Dad in the world this holiday season? (At least to my kids?)

My family is entering a new phase. We have a wide range of ages: 11, 9, 7, 4, & 2. I’ve only ever been a Dad to little kids and that’s slowly getting changing. 😭

I now have an almost-teen daughter (going on 25), a pre-pubescent (actually kinda hate that word tbh) boy, and still three little boys after that.

What did your parents (or you) do to help with that transition from just a family of littles, to a mix of littles and pre-teens, specifically during the holiday season?

I love all of our fun Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions, and we will continue them, but most of them are centered around little kids. 

I’d love any thoughts or advice, either from what you’ve done or what your parents did.

I had the privilege of working on the Zero Gravity branding for 2025, and the whole look and feel that you see in these photos, and our friends at In The Event were so incredible to work with to help it all come to fruition.

Glad to have been part of another incredible production — the Zero Gravity Summit, hosted by 47G in Salt Lake City. We love how this one came together. It truly takes a village.

The summit brought together leaders across aerospace, defense, energy, and emerging technologies to explore the future of innovation, dual-use technology, and national security. Our team was behind the scenes transforming the venue into an immersive environment designed to match the ambition of the ideas being shared on stage.

From stage and scenic design to LED integration, lighting, AV, and fabrication, every detail was carefully coordinated to create a seamless experience that balanced form and function.

Projects like this highlight what we love most about live event production — collaboration, precision, and creativity coming together to make something unforgettable.
