Health tech is still in wall-breaking mode. 

A few reflections.



🟣𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐀𝐙𝐄 
Data is still trapped in a maze of disparate systems that do not talk to each other. While some organisations have embraced a lingua franca (standards), most data remains behind walls. 



🟣𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐀 
𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘦? 
Bart thinks so. 

One decade on, fragmentation is still alive and kicking.



🟣 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄 
#Digitalhealth needs to cut through silos to eliminate waste (i.e. treatments, admin). 

Waste management often starts at home: there is too much of the same tech. 

Paradoxically, those who have the data, don’t often know what to do with it.

The focus should be on building viable use cases.

🟣 𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐋 𝐁𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐒
AI and CGTs are frontier technologies, but the business models are in the cave.

✺ 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦?

Pharma is trapped with big patient models and outdated business models. Digital health needs to find sustainable revenue pathways - including DTX. 

►There is too much focus on digital front doors and pills. The rest of the house (clinical workflows, back end) is more interesting. 



🟣 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘 
The 'move fast' VC business model doesn't work for most health tech founders. Entrepreneurs need longer money flows.

✺ 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘖𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨❓

A few takeaways from our panel: 
►FOs, CVCs and Angels bring patient capital, networks, and GTM. 
►Founders should  conduct DD as to when/how to approach them
►It is about strategic and time fit.

Most can see the AI froth -splashed by Big Tech's circular loops.  What lies underneath is scarier. 
The interplay of debt, geopolitics, and ping-pong tariffs is adding to the West's perennial problem of too little growth and too much inflation.  

Extracting liquidity from assets designed to be illiquid is an impossible equation(Chrys).

Fascination about digital assets has morphed into on-chain romance. Stablecoin plays Mr Darcy, but it is wilder Crypto that makes our wallets and hearts race.  

(Days later, a 100% China tariff nuked crypto in minutes> whales bought the dip> BTC rebounded. ) Not for the faint-hearted. 

Innovation has brought tokenisation.  
Is that the answer to illiquidity?
