One of the leading telecommunications operators in the #UAE, has been #breached by the DragonForce #ransomware gang. 

As always, we should avoid victim blaming. There are real victims here, both within the company and potentially among its customers.

However, our initial review of the leaked data reveals deeply concerning material. Among the files exposed is a document titled “Username and passwords_V1.0.xlsx”. 😱

When #credentials are stored in clear text and the #password quality is this weak, it highlights significant gaps in #cyberhygiene, #cyberculture, and operational processes.

Every organization will be targeted by #hackers and criminal groups. The difference between becoming a victim or staying resilient lies entirely in preparation, discipline, and a strong security culture. 

This incident is a reminder of why these fundamentals matter and why they cannot be ignored.
