Most people think SEO is publishing new content.

Wrong ❌

Some of the fastest wins I’ve ever seen came from refreshing old pages.

Not rewriting everything.
Just upgrading what already exists.

Here’s how I approach it 👇

1). Open your Search Console

Find pages that:

- Rank between positions 5–20
- Already get impressions
- Used to perform better

That’s low hanging leverage.

2). Match search intent again

Search changes. 
AI Overviews changed formatting.

Ask yourself:

Does this page answer the query immediately?
Or does it “warm up” for 800 words first?

Move the answer up.
Add a direct summary.
Tighten the intro.

3). Expand depth, not fluff

Don’t add words for word count.

Add:

- Clear sub-questions
- Updated data
- Real examples
- 2026 context (AI impact, current trends)
- FAQs people actually search

Make it citation worthy.

40. Fix structure

Most old content is messy.

Improve:

- H2 hierarchy
- Internal linking
- Scannability
- Schema (if relevant)
- Title & meta CTR

Sometimes a stronger title alone boosts traffic.

5). Remove what’s outdated

- Delete irrelevant sections.
- Replace old stats.
- Update screenshots.
- Refresh references.

Google notices freshness signals.

Users notice clarity.

6). improve topical authority

Link it to:

- Related cluster content
- New supporting articles
- High-authority pages on your site

Make it part of a system, not a standalone blog.

And as a result you will see

Better rankings.
Better AI citations.
Better conversions.
