Oversee the department's training program to ensure all members meet the requirements and recommendations of the state, district, and personnel. 

MISSION STATEMENT: 

The mission of the Wheat Ridge Fire Training Division is to support the department goals and to improve our members by providing continuing realistic, relative training that supports the roles and responsibilities of the members.

VISION OF THE TRAINING DIVISION:
•	Responsible for the initial training and continuing skills development for all members.
•	Dedicated to creating and providing quality training programs that reflect the needs and changing responsibilities of the WRFD membership.
•	Focused on providing and maintaining the highest quality emergency service responses to the people of the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District.
•	Instructional programs target overall development and efficiency, with company-level training placing emphasis on safe operating procedures for our members in all aspects of emergency operations.
•	We believe in the achievement of excellence in our services through devotion, teamwork, and open communication.
•	We believe that errors create an opportunity for improvement and we’ll share those experiences with all to create a better, safer fire service.
•	We will utilize “lessons learned” from the fire service to avoid making similar mistakes
•	Keep and maintain accurate, usable training records for the department
•	Understand that individual members are the single greatest asset and that the job is not a right, it is a responsibility

Battalion Chief of Training

Brian Eberle is a Fire Investigator and certified accelerant detection K9 handler. He has been in the fire service since 2003 and is certified in Fire and Explosion Investigation through the National Association of Fire Investigators, Fire Investigation Technician and Certified Instructor through the International Association of Arson Investigators, and is certified as a Peace Officer through Colorado POST. 

He is also the Co-Founder and the Vice President of Bloodhound Man Trackers, Inc.; a 501c3 non-profit that provides proven Bloodhounds for Law Enforcement Use on an as needed basis. Brian has assisted dozens of law enforcement agencies and has been accepted as a qualified expert in court.

Brian was recently elected to the International Fire Dogs Board for his experience in accelerant detection canines, fire/arson investigation, and K9 experience. 

Brian has trained and worked multiple breeds in different K9 disciplines and has a passion for training K9s for pets or work and believes that dogs enhance our lives.
