I started my career as Operations Director for George S Clayton Marden Ltd (the family engineering business), after graduating from the University of Kent at Canterbury. In 1992, I went on to diversify the business with the introduction of Water for Work.

Through mergers and acquisitions, I lead Water for Work, to become one of the largest independent water cooler companies in the industry. In 2005, we diversified the water cooler business by breaking into the wellbeing arena and launched a wellbeing division, Wellbeing People. In 2019, having sold the water cooler business, Wellbeing People was separated to become its own company, Wellbeing People Ltd, at which point we merged with Dayone Wellness.  Together this enabled us to turn our focus to sustainable wellbeing and the ongoing success of our wellbeing programmes.


I believe that wellbeing is largely misrepresented, and is widely used as a marketing term for the health, fitness, wellness and diet industries. To me, wellbeing is the essential foundation that prevents encompasses physical, mental and emotional health and is a precondition to help prevent illness.

Regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, class or weight, at Wellbeing People, we believe that wellbeing belongs to the individual and that we all have it, whether we recognise it or not.  Wellbeing People’s mission is to empower individuals to take ownership of their wellbeing and discover what optimal wellbeing means to them.   For us, the wellbeing journey is about progress not perfection.  We seek to instil a culture of optimal wellbeing for our clients whilst empowering individuals to live their best life for the longest time.
