The Snowboarder Who Built a Digital Empire
Imagine wanting to sell snowboards online in 2004 and finding the available software so terrible that you decided to build your own. That was the start for Tobi Lütke. Born and raised in Germany, he moved to Canada and realised that the "off-the-shelf" tools for small businesses were clunky, expensive, and completely out of touch with what a real entrepreneur needed.

His strategy was to stop focusing on selling snowboards and start focusing on the code he had written to sell them.
