2016 vs 2026: you had to be there

Ten years ago, I was a young adult living in Berlin, fresh out of school, working in Finance and already certain it wasn’t for me.

After a trip to Indonesia, I became curious about tech. While living in Italy, I started learning to code: 2 to 4 hours every day, teaching myself HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

That led me to design, and eventually to Webflow, where I finally felt the freedom to build and create.

I started freelancing on Upwork. It was barely making money, but I kept going.

One small project after another, until one day, I met Sina Sadegh, a client who would later become the co-founder of magier.

Looking back now, everything changed because I followed my curiosity and stayed committed to learning.

Taxes are not a fun topic for a lot of freelancers. 

Creating an explainer video for Dexxter that is tackling this challenge was indeed a lot of fun.

Duration: 75 seconds
Project timeline: 4 weeks 
Video Variations: 3 different languages  
Team members: Art Director + Designer + Motion Designer 

↳ We started with a strong foundation from the client - a clear script on what to communicate + main goal.

↳ Before touching design or animation, we mapped out the full flow - scene by scene. 

↳ After that, every frame was designed and prepared to get animated.

↳ We brought everything to life with smooth motion fitting the overall brand and added the voiceover.

↳ Finally, we translated the video into two additional languages, making sure the story still worked across markets.
