After losing more than $100,000 in a single day - TWICE - I was able to stage an epic comeback and build my dream life, and it was all because of books and bodybuilding. 

Today, after having had my life totally transformed by the power of the written word, my OBSESSION is to spread the love of books and reading to the furthest reaches of the internet.

Following my financial "de-pantsing," if you will, I worked in silence and obscurity at a minimum-wage security job where, as an overnight security guard at a hospital I was able to read and take detailed notes on more than 1,000 books.

Showing up to work, night after night with my tray of coffees and stack of books, I would rip through the collective wisdom of humanity: philosophy, psychology, classics, business, self-help, sociology, biographies, memoirs - I just inhaled it all, every night, for YEARS. 

Then, AFTER work, I'd hit the gym, packing on slabs of quality muscle and chiseling away every single pound of body fat separating me from my dream physique. 

Body and Mind, Intellect and Emotion, Pride and Humility, Joy and Suffering, Success and Failure - the gym and the library taught me invaluable lessons about ALL these things, and much more besides. 

But as strongly as I believe in self-determination, individual effort, and personal excellence, I've realized that NO ONE is self-made, and success means nothing without friends to share it with.
