Doesn’t matter.

Founders often live in the gap, always thinking about what’s missing.

But the real power comes from recognizing what’s already here.

Gratitude doesn’t make you soft.

It makes you clear.

And clarity makes you dangerous.

Some businesses don’t have a sales problem.

They don’t have a marketing problem.

They have a focus problem.

Instead of making the main thing better, they jump to a new thing.

New channel.
New product.
New campaign.
New idea.

Each one feels exciting. Each one feels like it might be the silver bullet.

It rarely is.

What usually happens is this:
	•	The core channel is only half-baked
	•	The offer is decent but not great
	•	The messaging works… sometimes
	•	The sales process is inconsistent

And instead of fixing that, the company looks for something new to save them.

More doesn’t fix broken.

Different doesn’t fix unfinished.

Real growth usually comes from doing more of what already works, not chasing what’s shiny.

Optimize the main thing:
	•	Improve the offer
	•	Tighten the message
	•	Train the sales team
	•	Fix conversion leaks
	•	Increase consistency

Once the core engine is strong, then you add channels.

Then you expand products.

Then you scale.

Focus isn’t boring.

It’s profitable.

Most companies don’t need a new idea.

They need the discipline to finish the one they already have.

Founders get ripped off by marketing agencies every day.

Not because the agencies are bad people…

But because founders buy tactics when what they actually need is strategy.

Many agencies are one-trick ponies.

If they sell SEO, magically SEO is “the answer.”

If they sell paid ads, paid ads are suddenly “the only path to scale.”

If they sell social, guess what… “You need to post more.”

They push what they sell.

Not what you need.

And founders fall for it because they don’t know any better. 

They assume “marketing is marketing.” 

It’s not.

Here’s the deal:

You don’t need SEO.
You don’t need ads.
You don’t need social.

You need clarity.

You need:
	•	A real ICP
	•	A real target market
	•	A real message
	•	A real GTM
	•	A real strategy

If you don’t have that, every tactic will fail.

Not because the tactic is bad…

But because your foundation is trash.

The fix?

Get someone with a marketing brain in the room before you hire an agency.

A strategist. 
An advisor. 
A fractional CMO. 

Someone who isn’t biased toward a single channel.

Or hire an agency that actually leads with strategy and works across channels so they don’t force-fit you into the one thing they sell.

Because until you fix strategy, every dollar you spend on tactics is pretty much charity.

It’s Friday.

This week had wins.

It had losses.

It had moments that made me question things.

And that’s normal.

Building anything meaningful is never a straight line. Some weeks feel light. 

Others feel heavy. Most are a mix of both.

So before you shut the laptop and move on to the weekend, here’s a reminder:

You showed up.

You made decisions.

You pushed things forward, even when it wasn’t fun.

That counts.

Rest a bit. Reset your head.

Next week will bring new problems to solve and new chances to get better.

Confidence isn’t built when things are easy.

It’s built when everything sucks and you keep going anyway.

Founders freak out during hard seasons because they think struggle means something is “wrong.”

It’s not wrong.

It’s normal.

Hard seasons are the price of doing anything meaningful.

Here’s the part people don’t get:

You don’t “lose” confidence. You stop doing the things that created it.

Confidence comes from evidence.

Evidence comes from action.

Make one decision.

Fix one bottleneck.

Move one thing forward.

That’s how momentum starts. 

And momentum kills doubt.

When you feel like everything is falling apart, do three things:

1. Look at the data, not your emotions.
Your feelings say “the sky is falling.”

The numbers usually say “you have three problems to solve.”

2. Stop tying your identity to the scoreboard.
A bad month doesn’t mean you’re a bad founder.

It just means you’re in a hard month.

3. Remember your track record.
You’ve solved harder problems than this.

You didn’t get here by luck.

Hard seasons forge the version of you that can handle the next level.

So if you’re going through it right now, good.

You’re earning your next upgrade.

“Nobody can do it like me.”

Founders love saying,

And they’re right.

Nobody can do it like you… because nobody else is you.

But here’s what you're missing:

Just because no one can do it your way doesn’t mean they can’t do it better.

You’re a generalist running 27 jobs at once.
 
A real salesperson sells all day.
A real marketer markets all day.
A real operator thinks in systems all day.

They’re specialists.

You’re not supposed to beat them at their specialty.

Founders get stuck because they think their uniqueness makes them irreplaceable everywhere.

It doesn’t.

It just makes them the bottleneck.

If you want to scale, you have to let go.

You have to hire people who outperform you in the areas that matter.

You have to delegate, not because you’re weak, but because that’s literally how real companies grow.

The belief “no one can do it like me” isn’t a strength.
It’s an anchor.

Drop it.
Let experts be experts.
And watch how fast the business outgrows what you could ever do alone.

Startups overthink GTM and under-execute it.

So here’s the 90-day GTM launch plan every startup should use.

Simple, clear, zero fluff.

Days 1–30: Clarity Phase (Stop guessing, start aiming)

Your only job here is to figure out who you’re for and why they should care.
If you skip this, nothing else works.

-Define your ICP (company size, industry, buyer persona, pains)
-Map their buying process
-Build your value proposition (pain → promise → proof)
-Develop your offer and pricing
-Create your messaging pillars
-Build a simple website/landing page that speaks to ONE audience

This month is about getting aligned.
If your ICP is fuzzy, your pipeline will be too.

Days 31–60: Execution Phase (Start selling immediately)

Now you start testing in the real world.

-Build outbound sequences (email + LinkedIn + phone)
-Create 1–2 lead magnets for inbound
-Start content distribution (founder-led is best)
-Test ads with small budgets ($500–$2k)
-Run discovery calls and refine your pitch
-Track questions, objections, patterns

The goal is NOT perfection.
It’s feedback.
Every call and every rejection sharpens your GTM.

Days 61–90: Optimization & Scale Phase

Now you know what works (and what doesn’t).
Time to double down.

-Cut the channels that aren’t performing
-Scale the ones that are
-Improve your messaging based on real objections
-Document your sales process
-Build repeatable outbound + inbound motions
-Tighten your offer and pricing
-Start hiring (if the motion is repeatable)

By Day 90 you should have:
 ✔ A validated ICP
 ✔ A clear message
 ✔ A working outbound motion
 ✔ Early indicators of inbound traction
 ✔ A repeatable sales process
 ✔ A GTM foundation you can scale

Most startups fail not because the product sucks…but because they never build a real GTM engine.

Follow this plan for 90 days and you’ll be ahead of 95% of them.
