I almost destroyed my credibility chasing follower counts.

I was creating surface-level content to attract more followers.

The problem is that, it's not where I thrive.

Yes, I build websites. Been doing it for nearly a decade.
But my passion isn't web design tutorials. 
I burn out creating that content.

(And let me be clear: tutorials are vital to the WordPress ecosystem. 
They're just not my thing.)

My passion is the WordPress ecosystem. WordPress for Operations. 
The industry level conversations that matter.

But I kept thinking: "If I focus on this niche stuff, I'll never grow a big audience."

So I tried creating content to attract everyone. 
It was burning me out and hiding the real value I have to offer.

Then I discovered something that shifted my entire perspective.

WordPress-focused publications with average of 2,000 subscribers charge $1,000 - $7,000 for sponsorships.

Initially, my thought was why would companies do this?

I got the answer as I kept researching:

One WordPress expert can have 10-25 potential users of your product. 
When they value your expertise, you're actually reaching hundreds of people.

But it goes deeper than numbers.

When you reach WordPress experts, you don't just reach their network. 
You're shaping the perception the industry has about your company.

In simple terms: the WordPress ecosystem is shaped by experts before it's adopted by users.

The WordPress industry operates on three distinct levels:
• Website creation level: Website design & development 
• Marketing level: SEO, content strategy
• Industry/thought leadership level: WordPress ecosystem insights, capabilities, and possibilities

All three levels matter. 
They're all essential to the ecosystem.

But I thrive at that third level.

Sharing that WordPress is beyond a website builder. It's for operations.

And interestingly when I stopped chasing followers and started being consistent in this space:

WordPress experts and agency owners started following me. 
Not because I'm teaching basics, but because I'm giving them deeper insights into the industry they're already in.

I'm deeply grateful to everyone who follows my content and finds value in it.
You've shown me that depth matters more than reach.

Recently companies are reaching out asking me to share insights on their products.

My line in the sand:
I won't talk for promotion's sake. I won't just do affiliate marketing.

I'm building advisory services instead. 
Because I don't want to talk about products. 
I want to talk about problems and how solutions actually solve them.

The focus stays on the problem. Always. 
Products fall in line when they genuinely solve real issues.

I'm responding to these companies with a framework for how I can deliver actual value to them and the WordPress community.

Grateful to every company that sees the value I bring. 

But more grateful I learned this lesson:

In specialized industries like WordPress, credibility beats follower count. Every single time.
