Dwengo

Dwengo builds international networks and organises teaching activities in the world. By international activities we achieve worldwide collaboration between students and teachers in the field of computer science and robotics. Through experience we found that education in social-disadvantaged countries has other needs and different challenges than those in Western countries. By working together with local partners, we are able overcome these challenges to achieve our goals. Our goal is to plant seeds and provide the necessary nutrients by working locally to make the growth of a global network viable.

Some of the Dwengo projects (see www.dwengo.org):
- WeGoSTEM: An innovative workshop (art-robot) brought into the schools that covers different aspects of STEM  including mechanics, electronics, algorithmic thinking and programming. The children conduct the workshop during their school hours with the support of their teacher and passionate STEM volunteers.
- "AI At School" entails the development of an artificial intelligence learning path for high school, based on the concern that young people need to understand and be able to have an impact on the digital world around them. In this learning track, special attention is paid to the ethical aspects of technology. This learning path is being developed in different contexts and at different levels of abstraction, with the aim to reach all students. Based on research, in collaboration with Ghent University. - Connection Cipal Schaubroeck - Mijn Burgerprofiel: Cipal Schaubroeck builds a connector to link the data of 15 different back end applications to "Mijn Burgerprofiel". Lead within the "Mijn Burgerprofiel" program, and taking up the coordination between Mijn Burgerprofiel and Cipal Schaubroeck.
- Coordination and financial reporting Mijn Burgerprofiel - VLAIO E-loket for entrepreneurs.

I dedicate time to bringing technology closer to those who might not naturally see themselves in STEM. Through initiatives like CoderDojo, WeGoSTEM, and Dwengo, I help spark curiosity and confidence in thousands of children each year. With The Ada Talks, I create space for women in tech to connect, share, and be inspired, because representation matters. Whether it’s about planting seeds early or amplifying voices later on, I believe tech becomes truly transformative when it’s inclusive.

I'm energised by big ideas and bold missions. I love turning complexity into clarity, patterns into progress, and vision into action. I think fast, connect dots quickly, and enjoy rallying people around purposeful goals. Leading long-term strategy and making it tangible is where I feel most at home.
