Most crypto tokens tokens fail. 

Working on tokenomics since 2017 and with 250+ projects to date, I have identified two core reasons behind this:

1. Misalignment of incentives - Working with a Venture Studio or an Accelerator (or any full service Web3 company) can add a lot of value to your project. However, a problem occurs when those companies also design your tokenomics. A Venture Studio is likely to design tokenomics that benefits VCs and early investors - with a lot of early token unlocks -> early sell pressure. A smart contract development company is likely to design tokenomics that are easy for them to implement, regardless if it is optimal for you. Additionally, neither of those companies have an incentive to tell you early on if your business model or tokenomics is not financially sustainable. 

2. One-size-fits-all Tokenomics - Web3 is driven by trends. Around 2017 it was common that the project would give away 70%+ of the tokens, currently the most common approach is different. A core mistake a lot of projects make is just to copy the tokenomics of another project 1:1, without accounting for differences in business models, demand drivers, and applications of the token utility.
