Exactly one week ago, I left 🇭🇰 Hong Kong to present virtually at the deBlock Summit — a policy and research gathering in 🇮🇷 Tehran, Iran.

I shared a brief (bilingual) overview of the benefits, challenges, and opportunities of RWA tokenization.

Wearing my 🇺🇸 American flag pin, I highlighted case studies of BlackRock and BNY Mellon, then transitioned to use cases in BRICS nations such as 🇧🇷 Brazil and 🇮🇳 India.

Tokenization is not tech-bro hype or a Western phenomenon.

It’s being implemented everywhere — for different reasons — faster than most people realize.

One leading motivation is that stablecoins and tokenized assets could reduce dependency on the U.S. dollar.

This would also lessen the impact of sanctions and American hegemony.

It's a real trend whether you agree with it or not.

This is transformational stuff. Blockchain is reshaping the global order right before our eyes.

These were the key points:

• Real estate stays “mispriced” because the information behind it is slow, incomplete, and difficult to trust.

• Digital tools like BIM and digital twins only create real value when their data is verified and organized.

• Tokenization turns trusted property data into something that can be bought, sold, and used in real financial markets.

• When buildings follow a shared data standard, private real estate starts to behave more like public markets — faster, clearer, and more reliable.

🌵 Thank you to BDO for inviting me to speak at the Asset Tokenization dinner and meetup in Dallas, Texas.

I was joined by Anthony Aniello, Co-Leader of the Digital Asset Tax Practice at BDO, and Brenden Bixler, Managing Director, Forensics.

We had a strong turnout from asset management and real estate development firms.

The key takeaways came down to a few points:

▶︎ Blockchain is an incredible tool for accountants, auditors, and compliance/risk managers

▶︎ There are real cost savings in issuing, managing, and trading digital securities

▶︎ Blockchain can verify inputs for asset valuations, helping lower the cost of capital

Then the conversation shifted to AI, led by Brenden.

▶︎ AI enables new types of fraud including deep fake voice authorization that can be created with as little as 15 seconds of recorded speaking

▶︎ Work that is highly verifiable against systems of record is ripe for AI processing

🤠 Overall, very intellectual conversations and great first impression of Texas!
