Change and Innovation Project Manager

Consulting in the social services sector as part of my MBA (and post-graduation), I am leading the digital transformation of Life Storybooks for young people in care. This project requires multi-stakeholder management, the development and maintenance of key relationships across all levels, meeting and surpassing key project deliverables and the development of effective change leadership implementation strategies.

The project necessitated the effective use of design thinking, lean and change leadership methodologies to manage various stages of the project and included the establishment of the additional project supporting elements such as foundation and design principles, organisational structures and development specifications.

Earlier in my career, I founded and scaled a financial services business to 2,000+ clients and $500M in assets. Burnout led to a complete reinvention: I sold the company, travelled through 23 countries with my family, completed an Exec MBA, and retrained in human-centred innovation.

I started my career as an admin and in one great instance where my preparation met opportunity, I was drawn to marketing.

What I love about marketing, or basically what drew me to it, is the fact that it is a fast-paced and trending discipline that sparks my inner artistry and requires me to continuously work on myself in terms of creativity, analytics, and psychology.

I am passionately curious and I draw my motivation from it. I am driven to make a difference and I love a good challenge that will push me to learn and grow in the process, so what better way to live this dream than to be a marketer?

The highlight of my career would be my first job as an intern at UNECA where I learned expectations vs reality lessons, followed by my time working at Ethiopian Airlines as a customer service agent where I built my communication skills, customer service, thinking on my feet, and real-time experience of the value of time. Last but not least, my time at Awash Wine, where my career shifted in the right direction and I started my career journey as a marketer.

Outside of work, I am happily married and a mother of 3 beautiful daughters who I see a glimpse of myself in and, at the same time with the courage of their own conviction. I am passionate about leadership, I read books, listen to podcasts, and love to engage in networking activities that will build my leadership skills.
