Yesterday broke my heart open in the best way possible.

The FounderX Venture Partners Global Startup Summit wasn't just another event. It was a reminder of why I do what I do.

Thomas Dose(md of BMW) dropped one question that's now tattooed in my brain: "Explain your business idea in three lines. If you can't, don't start."

Then I met Dharaneetharan anna backstage. A mentor I've followed for years but never met in person. I forgot to take a photo. Classic me. 

But I told him about Sajitha's love for his book. That moment mattered more than any picture.

On stage, the book recommendations came flying for marketers from Dharanee anna and Harish anna

Rocket Singh, Focus, Creative Confidence, Billionaire Holiday. 

I'm adding them all to my list.

C K Kumaravel sir entered in and dropped this bomb: "Rationalize your failure. Emotionalize your success."

I'm keeping that one close.

Sakthi's question that's still sitting with me: "If 10 people follow you today, what will they get tomorrow?"

My answer? Storytelling. How to find it. How to use it. How to make it yours.

That's what I want people to take from me. I'll figure out how to deliver it better as I go.

Otherwise, I'd overthink it to death.

Mad stuff.

Now though, after building brands for founders who bet on themselves before the world did, I've been slowly adapting to that.

And I've become way better at starting before I'm ready.

There's been weeks where I've launched things with just belief and a Google Doc.

Certainty just isn't a requirement anymore.

But this time I gave myself permission to go all in.

I put real money on the table. I told people the truth. I said "this is happening" before it was perfect.

I know because I don't NEED it to be perfect, it's just exciting.

And I have control over the outcome.

Takeaway:

When you don't NEED certainty, and you choose to move anyway, it's always way more powerful.

If you're building something and not launching it, ask:

Do I NEED proof before I start?

If the answer is yes, may be worth revisiting why and how you can create an environment where you don't NEED to wait.

But instead, you CHOOSE to move.

Way more alive.

If you're thinking about building a personal brand this year, here's something most strategists won't tell you (after building brands for founders who overthink everything):

Start at 70% ready.

Not 90%.
Not when you've figured out your niche, your hook framework, and your content calendar for Q2.

70%.

Because here's what actually happens:

If you wait till you feel "ready," you'll still be researching in March. Still watching other people's carousels. Still telling yourself you'll start once you have clarity.

You won't have clarity until you start moving.

The remaining 30% only shows up after you act:

- your actual voice (not the one you rehearse in your head)
- what your audience actually responds to
- the stories that land vs. the ones you thought would land

You can't strategize your way into those answers.

You collect them by posting. By pitching. By letting people react without jumping in to defend yourself.

Your number one focus this month:

Move before you're ready.

Say the thing that feels 70% baked.

Let it be awkward at first.

We're all gonna be dead someday anyway.

Might as well build something that feels like you while you're here.

I was looking at my banking app last night after transferring stipends to my 5 interns and I just... stopped.

The first salary I ever saw was my mother's government payslip. I was a kid. I remember the exact number. It felt like security. Like stability. Like everything.

When I started in 2021, I was making a fraction of what she made. A fraction.

I didn't think about hiring anyone. I was just trying to survive.

Fast forward to now. I'm paying five people. (Well, four now. But still.)

No fancy degree in business. No inheritance. No safety net.

Just me, building something from stories and strategy.

Here's what hit me today: I'm not just earning anymore. I'm creating income for others.

My mother's payslip taught me what money meant.
My own struggle taught me what it costs.
But this? Signing off on someone else's stipend?

This taught me what it means to build something real.

Two years ago, I couldn't imagine paying myself consistently.
Now I'm responsible for four other people's livelihoods.

The distance between "barely surviving" and "employing a team"?

Smaller than you think.

in past 28 days, I stopped trying to "stay consistent" on LinkedIn. 
I stopped forcing myself to show up motivated. I stopped waiting for inspiration to strike.

And here's what happened:

I started posting. 
Not perfectly, but clearly. 
I stopped overthinking my hook and just said what I meant. 
My posts started landing because they sounded like me, not a content template. 

People started replying with real problems, not just emojis.

You know what the real issue was? 
I wasn't inconsistent. I was unclear.

I didn't know what I was trying to say. 
I didn't know who I was talking to. 
I didn't know what story I was building. 
So I'd stare at the blank post box for 20 minutes, write three drafts, delete them all, 
and call it "writer's block."

But here's the truth: You don't need motivation. You need 30 focused minutes and a clear direction.

When you know your story, your message, your angle - posting stops feeling like a chore. 
It starts feeling like showing up for the people who need to hear from you.

Here's what I've learned: 
Consistency isn't about posting every day. 
It's about knowing what you're building toward.

Because when you're clear, 30 minutes is enough. 
When you're unclear, 3 hours won't save you. 

When you stop guessing what to say, you stop avoiding the post. 
When you have a system, you don't need willpower.

I'm opening something on Feb 1 for people who are done being invisible. 

It's for the founders who know they should be on LinkedIn but keep putting it off. 
The ones who have the expertise but not the clarity. 
The ones who are tired of starting and stopping every other week.

30 days. 30 minutes a day. Your story. Your voice. Real results.

POV: you're about to launch a challenge. you've prepped everything. checked it twice. your teammate confirmed it works. people are joining the call. you're ready.

Then the link breaks. The Notion page goes blank. The data disappears.

Everything that can go wrong, goes wrong.

Right there. Live. With 5 people watching.

And you have two choices in that moment:

Panic and blame yourself for being the person who "breaks everything."

Or laugh. Make a joke. Let people know you're figuring it out.

I chose the second one.

Not to sound like a weirdo, but:

THIS is the moment that defines how you show up.

Because when things fail (and they will), your audience doesn't need perfection.

They need to see you handle it like a human.

Here's what I did:

1. Made fun of myself. Took the pressure off everyone.
2. Stayed on the call. Didn't hide or reschedule.
3. Figured it out in real time. Version history was the culprit.
4. Fixed it after the call. Got the data back. Moved forward.
5. Didn't spiral into "I'm bad at this" mode.

The people on that call? They stayed. They laughed with me. They trusted me more.

Because I didn't pretend to be flawless.

I just showed them I can handle the mess.

Makes me happy knowing my way works.

Because being able to mess up and still move forward is a true skill.

Really is.

I'm 27. I tell stories. I write them too. And for years, I've told myself the same thing: "I've never stayed consistent on anything, so I won't be able to do it."

Maybe you've said this to yourself too.

Here's what I want you to know:

You're wrong.

And I can prove it 
because I proved it to myself.

For the past 30 days, I've written and posted every single day.
For the past 150 days, I've studied Japanese every single day.

Not because I suddenly became a different person.
Not because I found some magical discipline hack.
But because I made my bare minimum so simple, I couldn't fail.

I write. I use my prompts. I post.

That's it.

No overthinking. 
No perfectionism. 
No "I'll do it when I feel inspired."

Just a system that works even on my worst days.

Here's the truth nobody tells you:

Consistency isn't about motivation.

It's about making the barrier to entry so low that your excuses can't keep up.

I used to think consistency meant grand gestures.

Now I know it means showing up with the smallest possible step.

And that changes everything.

So here's my challenge to you:

Not just time. Not just effort.
