This is the thing nobody tells you about teaching what you know:

The best students don’t just learn your lessons.

They take your 20 years and compress it into 2 years. 

Doing > IQ’ing.

I call it the "5 cent word" rule and it's one of the easiest fixes in selling with dignity.

That stopped being a pattern interrupt about 47,000 YouTube videos ago.

My mom turned 90 last Sunday.

If you called her with this line, she'd pause, sigh, and in the sweetest voice imaginable say:

"Oh honey. Did reading that off your script make you feel powerful? Or did your soul leave your body a little?"

Then she'd hang up. Gently. Because she was raised right.

Yesterday's pattern interrupt is tomorrow's worn-out line.

Getting consistent, predictable meetings in the calendar is hard.

Usually, companies struggle because

• They've noticed they don't have enough meetings in the calendar and as a result, the pipeline is looking a bit bleak.

An employee of mine recently went through a messy divorce.

He did nothing wrong but his wife had enough and left him.

Then he realised everything was in his name 

House 
Cars
Holiday Home

You name it.

By the time the divorce was finalised he ended up paying his wife 10k a month indefinitely. 

Crazy!

But the craziest part?

I started dating his wife and now my net worth is 10k more. 

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

At parents’ evening the teacher said, “Your son struggles to focus.”

I asked for the data.

She didn’t have any.

So I set up weekly stand-ups with the class.

Put some simple KPIs around reading.

Benched handwriting.

By half term, attention was up 31 percent.

The headteacher now reports to me.

If your child isn’t learning, it’s a management problem. 
Do more.

“YOU CAN’T HAVE WORK-LIFE BALANCE.” 

I don’t believe that statement holds true anymore. Much of the “extra” work people engage in, particularly in B2B businesses, can be categorised into three buckets: optional, non-needle moving, or simply a convenient way to avoid going home.

I've seen many individuals still glued to their spreadsheets at 8 PM. Today, that's largely a choice. While AI has its limitations, it excels at handling well...

After-hours work calls are often presented as a sign of commitment. More frequently, they reflect poor time management during the day. 

When it comes to thinking time like brainstorming, strategising, generating ideas your best insights rarely emerge while hunched over a laptop. They often come while walking the dog, at the gym, or even staring at the ceiling at 6 AM.

Certainly, there are times when you need to roll up your sleeves, during crunch weeks, approaching deadlines, or short sprints where balance may tip temporarily. That’s a normal part of work life.

However, if working late becomes the default rather than the exception, then by 2026, it’s a habit. With the technology and tools available today, it is typically a choice. 

And it's important to be honest about those choices. 

No one is permanent, including you, make sure you're not the person who 'could have' but  didn't.

I was at a business lunch yesterday when the worst thing happened.

My wife rang me from hospital.

“It’s awful, you’re going to have to come quickly…”

I stopped her.

“Can you check if the hospital has Wi-Fi?”

“What do you mean?” she said.

“Just check…”

“They do, but we’re in the countryside so it’s not great. Zac, can you…”

“Please hold,” I said.

I turned to the guest at the business lunch.

“Do you cover SP4 postcodes?”

Two days later, the hospital had ultra-fibre Wi-Fi.

Opportunity is everywhere, but only if your eyes are open to it.

Last week in Bournemouth, we accomplished more than just getting back into the swing of things. 

We secured 12 meetings and built a six-figure pipeline in just five days.

To clarify:
- 70% of those meetings occurred within the same week.
- 100% were qualified using the PEEMEES framework.

This success came while much of the industry was still easing back in. The reality is that most outbound efforts fail in the first week of January not due to closing issues, but because of an Opening Problem.

While others were merely checking in or circling back, we focused on diagnosing needs. In the "Sales Is Therapy" approach, we prioritise uncovering the emotional cost of remaining stagnant over simply pitching for meetings.
