Eine Brand gemeinsam mit der Community aufzubauen klingt romantisch. Und ist genau deshalb etwas, das die wenigsten wirklich durchziehen.

Nicht, weil Community nicht funktioniert.
Sondern weil sie unbequem ist.

Aus meiner Sicht gibt es vier Gründe, warum die meisten Brands hier aussteigen:

1. Ego.
Co-Creation zeigt dir, dass deine Vorstellung nicht immer deckungsgleich mit den Erwartungen der Community ist. Aus eigener Erfahrung kann ich sagen: das ist manchmal echt hart. (; 

2. Komplexität.
Feedback von vielen Menschen ist kein Geschenk per se. Es wird erst wertvoll, wenn man lernt, Widersprüche auszuhalten und trotzdem Entscheidungen zu treffen.

3. Skalierung.
Viele Prozesse wirken auf den ersten Blick nicht skalierbar.
Und ja – oft sind sie es auch nicht sofort. Genau das zu „cracken“ ist für mich eine der spannendsten Herausforderungen.

4. Gutes Feedback ist verdammt schwer.
Wenn du die falsche Frage stellst, bekommst du Antworten, mit denen du nicht weiterarbeiten kannst. Community-Aufbau scheitert selten an Meinungen, sondern an schlechtem Research Design.

Mein Plan daher:
– Klar trennen: Was darf die Community mitentscheiden – und was nicht.
– Verantwortung behalten: Feedback einholen heißt nicht, Entscheidungen abzugeben.
– Fragen sauber formulieren: offen genug für echte Insights, konkret genug für klare Entscheidungen.
– Widersprüche ernst nehmen: Ich kann sie nicht alle auflösen, aber ich kann sie immer einordnen.
– Transparenz herstellen: erklären, warum etwas so entschieden wurde – gerade dann, wenn nicht alle zustimmen.

Community-driven heißt leider eben nicht: Alle sind immer happy.
Aber sie müssen sich ernst genommen fühlen – auch dann, wenn ihre Idee nicht gewinnt.

Was, glaubt ihr, ist der größte Grund, warum Brands echte Co-Creation mit der Community vermeiden? Und nervt euch das, oder ist es euch eigentlich egal? 👀
