The fastest way to RUIN your speech or presentation…

Is to realize you’re short on time.

Because most people get this wrong. 

Let me explain:

Early on in my career, whenever I realized I was short on time… 

Whether it was a presentation, speech, or even a meeting…

I’d speed up. 
Stop pausing.
Try to get through all the content I had planned. 

But every time… it was terrible.

People’s eyes would glaze over.

They were clearly struggling to follow along.

And it made me look disorganized.

Here’s what I learned: 

When you rush to get through everything, the audience doesn’t think:

“Wow, he is so efficient! 
He wants me to get the most out of this!”

They actually think: 

“He clearly didn’t manage his time well. 
Now he’s rushing to compensate.”

The best speakers do the opposite.

When they realize time is tight, they continue to keep their pace under control. 

But they edit on the spot. 

They cut anything that isn’t crucial.

They only say what’s most important.

If you do this right, your listeners should have no idea what’s happening. 

So if you’re running out of time, don’t rush your words. 

Edit them. 
Finish calm. 
Finish under control.

What’s 1 blessing in your life you’ve been recently reminded of?

I used to hate meeting people.

Now I love it.

And it’s made life a lot easier.

But I didn’t become more outgoing.

I worked on 3 skills: 

1. First impressions. 

- Confident body language 
- Focus on the other person
- The right tone of voice 

2. Small talk. 

- Best questions to ask 
- Building connections quickly
- Steering conversations in positive directions 

3. Answering questions. 

- Making boring answers more interesting
- Being confident but not arrogant 
- Knowing when to joke and when to be serious 

Having go-to answers for common questions like: 

“What do you do?”

Has been particularly helpful. 

That one skill alone has led to clients, referrals, and opportunities I never expected.

My clients experience this too.  

One of my clients ended up interviewing for a job with a 30% higher salary… 

Because of a conversation with someone he met on the train. 

The man said my client "made a great first impression"

And connected him with someone from his company. 

My client didn't take the job because they needed him in the office more than he wanted, but the point still stands 😅

I made 3 BIG mistakes when 
learning to speak better...

1.) Thinking “just speaking more” would help me improve
2.) Memorizing scripts with fancy words 
3.) Copying other people who sounded confident

These seem like they could be helpful. 

But they don’t solve anything. 

Here’s what actually makes a difference:

(Based on over a decade of learning and 300+ clients)

1.) Clarity
Clear and concise = easy for others to understand 

2.) Delivery
Engaging voice = easy for others to keep listening 

3.) State 
Optimized state = easy for you to speak at your best 

If you're lacking in one of these,

Things are harder than they need to be. 

But they're all important to learn.

Can’t go home for the holidays without getting a workout in with my best pal. 

And as a bonus:

The more calories you burn earlier in the day… 

The more you can eat at Christmas dinner. 

(At least that’s what I tell myself)

P.S. What are you most excited about this holiday season?

I still replay conversations in my head.

I think, “I should have said that differently”

And it bothers me. 

But thankfully, it doesn’t happen much anymore.

In fact, it’s pretty rare now. 

Only because I have tools I can rely on.

Tools to:

— Speak more clearly 
— Stay more composed 
— Articulate with intention 

And most of the time, I say what I mean to say.

But when I don’t….

There are other tools that help me move on quickly. 

(The “toolbox” has grown a lot over the years 🧰) 

Because there’s a big difference between: 

1.) Being annoyed about something for a few MINUTES 

vs.

2.) Being annoyed about something for a few DAYS 

Remember this: 

You don’t need to speak perfectly.

You just need the right tools to speak at your best.

Do you ever replay conversations in your head?

And do you ever think “I should have said this differently”?

How to Handle “Grinches” and Overly Negative People

Did you encounter any Grinches over the holidays? 

How about someone who was: 

- Extremely negative?
- Bringing you down?
- Constantly complaining?

It’d be great to avoid these people altogether. 

But sometimes that isn’t realistic.

So here are 3 things you can do to make these conversations as short as possible: 

1.) Make minimal eye contact. 

Eye contact increases connection and engagement. 

(Not what you want with this type of person)

2.) Don’t nod. 

Nodding shows you’re listening and encourages them to keep going. 

(Again, not ideal)

3.) Don’t add anything. 

Both agreeing and disagreeing will add fuel to the discussion. 

Disagreeing will certainly add more.

But any contribution will keep them talking WAY longer. 

If you feel the need to say something, limit it to neutral things like: 

- Mmm
- Got it  
- Never thought about that 


And if they don’t take the hint after awhile… 
(many won’t)

Raise your hand (visual cue) and say:

“NAME, I totally hear what you’re saying. 

I need to run to the washroom/get a drink/get some air/catch up with XYZ/say hi to XYZ. 

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day/night.”

Then exit quickly. 


NOTE: 

There are obviously warmer ways to handle and leave a conversation. 

But remember - this is for the true Grinches. 

The people who really bring you down. 

It’s important to protect your time and energy. 

So you don’t want to encourage future conversations with them.

P.S. Would you try any of this?

I sincerely hope you don’t have to 😅

You don’t get better at speaking by thinking about speaking.

But you do need 1 thing BEFORE you start practicing. 

Clarity on your flaws. 

We can also say “areas of improvement” if that makes you feel better 😅

Progress starts from awareness. 

Because if you don’t know what you’re doing wrong, 

How are you supposed to fix it?

So pay extra attention the next few days. 

Notice: 

- When you ramble 
- Which filler words you use 
- When the words don’t come out right 
- Which situations feel less comfortable  

No judgment. 

Just see what comes up.

You got this.

This is something a lot of people 
don’t think about with communication…

It’s the level of intention they have. 

Most people are on autopilot throughout the day.

And their communication suffers. 

Don’t be one of them. 

My challenge to you is the following: 

Before the next conversation you have…

Set an intention for:
 
- How you want to show up 
- How you want to communicate 

It costs nothing. 

And it takes almost no time. 

I bet you’ll notice a difference. 

Do you accept the challenge?

Had an INSANE dream last night. 

I dreamed that people stopped saying “just following up” 

Then I woke up and checked my email. 

Definitely just a dream. 😅

I also see a lot of emails ending with just:

“Thanks" 

Even though most of them aren’t thanking you for anything.

Emails are funny, aren’t they?

You don't want to sound the same as everyone else. 

But you also don't want to be too crazy, right?

Here’s what I find works best. 

If I do these things, I tend to get better responses: 

1.) Use positive priming words 
(But not too many)  

2.) Have lots of white space 
(No big chunks of text)

3.) End with a question 
(No "thanks" unless there’s a reason)

4.) Avoid wildly overused phrases 
(Touch base, follow up, etc.)

Are there any funny things you've noticed about emails over the years?

One thing I’ve noticed about great speakers:

They don’t just try to sound confident.

They try to sound clear.

And here’s where it gets interesting:

Most people think confidence comes first.

And it does for some. 

But for others, it really shoots up when they become more clear.

For example:

1.) You explain a point clearly. 
2.) People buy in and are on board. 
3.) Confidence increases. 

Rinse and repeat. 

Next thing you know - 

Confidence is higher than ever. 

But I’m curious how this shows up for you:

Do you struggle more with confidence or clarity when you speak?

Are you usually a confident person, 
But don’t always speak at your best under pressure?

This is very common. 

I work with a lot of high-performers who are exceptional at what they do.

But when:

- The pressure’s on 
- They're put on the spot 
- Intimidating ppl are around

Their communication doesn’t always reflect that at the highest level.

They walk out of meetings thinking:

“That didn’t come out the way I wanted it to.”

Here’s the good news.

If you’re already confident most of the time, you don’t need to change much.

For example, one of my clients Kim was in a solid place in her career.

But with high-level stakeholders,

She didn’t always like how she was coming across.

She’d rush through things or second-guess herself after speaking.

And after completing my 1-on-1 program,

She doesn't have to worry about those things anymore.

Why? 

- She knows how to speak with calm authority.
- She gets to the point clearly and quickly.
- She leaves conversations feeling proud of how she spoke.

It’s 2026. STOP overexplaining yourself. 
(That means no more word zomit)

Have you ever heard someone take 3 mins to explain something that should have taken 30 secs? 

How frustrating is that to listen to? 

If you want to stand out as a clear, concise speaker, try using structure when explaining something. 

Here’s an example of structure: 

1.) Main idea/message 
2.) Why you think it
3.) Example or story to support it 
4.) Restate main idea/message 

In practice: 

1.) “Communication is one of the most valuable skills to learn.”

2.) “It helps you get more respect, build deeper relationships, and advance your career.”

3.) *Example of how improving my communication made me more successful*

(Or an example of how it helped someone else)

4.) “That’s why communication is one of the best skills a person can learn.”

I teach clients how to build the skills to speak with structure like this on the spot. 

So even if you don’t have time to prepare…

(which is most situations)  

You can be confident knowing you have the skills to give a clear, powerful answer.

Let’s leave the word vomit in 2025. 

Would you agree?

Most people overthink being likeable at work.

But it can be easy as doing 3 simple things.

(When I started doing these,
people helped me out WAY more)

1.) Give specific appreciation.

If you’re being specific,
you wouldn’t just say “thanks.”

You’d say:

“I appreciate you completing that
and sending it back so quickly.”

And remember to be generous
with your gratitude.

It builds relationships fast. 

2.) Make a note of personal details.

For example: 

if someone tells you about their dog,
(and the dog’s name is Bark Twain)

Write down that name
in a note on your phone.

Then ask them about Bark Twain
next time you see them.

People love when you 
remember these things.

3.) Be an optimist.

Being overly negative
is a very unattractive quality.

Instead of complaining about problems,
focus on solutions, next steps,  
and moving things forward. 

Reflection time: 

Which one of these 3 things
could YOU be better at?

You’ve lost your audience’s attention when speaking. 

How do you get it back?

Here are 3 things the best speakers in the world do: 

1.) Add some vocal variety.

— Speed up or slow down your pace 
— Raise or lower your volume 
— Emphasize a word or phrase 

2.) Ask a question.

Example:

"Has this ever happened to you? *pause*

How did that feel?" *pause again*

The pauses give them a chance to answer the question in their minds. 

3.) Get them involved with an exercise.

a.) Have them turn to the person next to them.

And practice what they just learned.

Or if that doesn’t make sense…

b.) Have them trade ideas on something that you just spoke about. 

This should be quite quick.

Around 30 seconds or so. 

Summary: 

— Vocal variety
— Questions
— Exercises

(Bonus: Tell a story)

Ideally these things would already be planned in advance. 

That way you don't lose your audience's attention to begin with. 

But if it does happen… 

You need to have the right tools on your tool belt.

No exaggeration - this changed my life. 

I view every situation as practice. 

Instead of a performance. 

This applies to everything: 

- Meetings

It’s all practice for you to get better. 

I grew up as a very shy, awkward kid. 

And I really struggled with speaking when I entered the professional world. 

But once I learned and applied this… 

Improving my speaking skills became MUCH easier. 

And I still think about this today.

1.) Pacing 

- He takes his time. 
- He sounds extremely calm and composed. 

His words carry more power this way. 

2.) Storytelling 

- He uses relevant stories. 
- He knows it's a speech so uses much shorter ones than his standup. 

He connects with the audience more this way. 

3.) Humor 

- He tells jokes (no surprise here) 
- He alternates from serious to funny 

He captivates the audience more this way. 

(Compared to being serious the entire time or funny the entire time)

Here’s the real reason you overthink important conversations:

It’s not just a lack of certainty or confidence.

It’s also what pressure does to your thinking. 

When Josh and I started working together, high-pressure moments scrambled his thoughts.

Sales calls with big prospects. 
Important internal meetings.

He knew his material. 
And was an intelligent guy. 

But when the pressure kicked in, 

He overthought what to say and how to say it.

So what did we do? 

1.) Trained him to simplify, organize, and clearly articulate his thoughts

2.) Taught him science-backed tools to stay more calm and composed under pressure 

3.) Focused on communicating with control and intention (verbally and nonverbally)

Here’s the part most people miss.

Confidence doesn’t come from forcing yourself to be bold.

It comes from clarity and control when it matters.

Even tho I post ~3 times a day.
 
Not because I'm some superwoman
or have a massive team.

Thinking skills are the skills used to do any task.
 
If the thinking skills required to post consistently on LinkedIn are weak, 
you are going to have a harder time posting content daily.
 
But if your thinking skills are stronger,
It's just as easy to post content as it is to scroll content.
 
Here are 4 thinking skills you use 
(without even realizing it!) 
when you're posting content consistently:
 
1. Having a need to make a plan
(your brain has the desire to make a plan to figure out how you'll be consistent)
 
2. Understanding reality
(your brain understands the reality of life that there will be things that will happen, so you want to prepare accordingly)
 
3. Understanding time
(your brain understands how long it actually takes to post content)
 
4. Categorizations
(your brain categorises and organizes your workflow in a way that is efficient and you can get a lot done in short amounts of time)


Which one of the above thinking skills are you best at?

Just don’t do it.
Because I’m gonna come at you hard.

He’d probably still be stuck in bed.
Instead, 4 months later, he began walking.

P.S. What's something you haven't accepted and have been able to change for the better?

I grew up in a house 
where everything was last-minute.
 
We didn't know how many people 
would be at the dinner party till it was over.

We'd go on road trips not knowing where we'd land up.

And we missed way to many flights to count.
(Once on a family trip to Israel, we missed the flight on the way there AND the way back)
 
As a kid,
I hated it.
 
So I became obsessed with planning.
And I'm not mad about,
Because it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY today.
 

Today,
I actually love spontaneity.

I’ve booked a trip to Croatia 3 days before.
Will drop what I'm doing to hang out with someone I love.
AND
I still time-block my calendar down to the minute.


In life,
We want to have skills on both sides of the spectrum.
 
Because,
There are situations where you need one 
and situations where you need the other.
 
If you're only able to do one skill,
You're stuck in that skill.
 
So,
What's a skill you're good at?
And what the opposite skill of it?

In 2025 I was ruthless about who I spent time with.

Not many people made it to the list.

Because the people around you impact you more than you realize. 
They shape your standards.
Decisions.
What actions you’re gonna take.

People say not to rely on motivation.
Got some truth to it, 
But you’re missing an important element:
 
Motivation is a skill.
 
You can rely on motivation,
If you know how to motivate yourself.
 
Is it with some music?
Is it by connecting with your why?
Is it turned on by focusing on your wins?
 
Every person is motivated a different way.
If you can figure out how YOU are motivated,
You can always be motivated.


P.S. What gets you motivated?

While I've never been on my deathbed

I actually really don't like when people say:

"On your deathbed bed 
you're just gonna wish 
you've spent more time with your loved ones."
 
Yes,
Maybe you will wish that.
 
But that would be dismissing all the other amazing things you've done.
 
Goals you've accomplished.
Charity you've given.
Experiences you had. 
The challenges that pushed you to your limits.
 
If you just wanted to spend more of your life with loved ones,
You can close your business
Eat ramon and rice
And move to a tree house.
 
But for some reason, I don’t see you doing that.
 
So instead of “wishing you spent more time with family”
Decide today, 
that whatever you’re doing,
You’re picking intentionally.
 
Whatever you pick comes with consequences, 
and you've got to take the whole package.
 
Make sure you're taking a package you'll be happy with on your deathbed.


P.S. What are you going to be more intentional about in 2026?

Things I do that make zero sense to other people 
but work perfectly for me:

I don’t chase productivity.
I remove friction.

I don’t fix problems once.
I improve the skill that created them.

I don’t move fast because I’m impulsive.
I move fast because I already thought it through.

I don’t overthink.
I think once deeply. 

I don’t fear complexity.
I simplify it.

I don’t burn out.
I redesign how I work.

Things that make zero sense to other people but work for me as an ADHD business owner

At the age of 11, 
I still couldn't read properly. 
 
That meant I spent many hours out of the classroom with tutors. 
I was happy going to tutors because I hate school,
But my parents weren’t to happy 
because they were paying $2,000+ every month and getting zero results. 
 
And so,
They decided was time to do something else.
Instead of going to another reading tutor,
I went to someone who helped me with my brain.

Who helped me improve my thinking processes, 
my 28 thinking skills.

And automatically, 
I got better at reading. 
 
It was at that age,
that I knew how powerful this work was 
because not only did my reading get better,
Every area in life got better.

My test marks improved,
I made better friends
And my confidence went thru the roof.
 
Today, I do the same thing. 
I don't tell you how to be productive.
I don't tell you how to communicate with your team 
or how to create SOPs 
or how to set up systems. 
 
Instead,
I help you improve how your brain 
is thinking and processing information
and then everything else automatically improves.

5 Things Nobody Tells You About Your ADHD Brain:

(I wish they were spoken about more)

1) You may be impulsive but that may not be the reason you’re interrupting.
There’s a good chance it’s weak working memory. 
Strengthen your working memory, and the urge to interrupt disappears.

2) Pressure creates focus, but it's not the only way. 
Your brain can learn to focus when you want it to. 

Speaking of focusing
3) The best way to improve your focus is to improve your sense of touch.
Doing things blindfolded (which will develop your parietal lobe)

4) Decisions are hard because you're processing more factors than necessary. 
Get clear on what you want first. 

5) Planning feels pointless because you always make it work.
Once you learn to plan in a way that works with your brain, 
you'll realize how much easier everything can be.

Every task requires specific thinking skills.

When you use the RIGHT skill? 
Easy. 
When you compensate with other thinking skills? 
It’s exhausting (understatement) 
 
For example:
You struggle to organize your inbox.
So you use your incredible memory to track everything.
Works great. 

Until your memory gets overloaded. 
Or you forgot to tell your EA an important detail about one client.
Then things fall through the cracks.
 
Or
 
You struggle to communicate clearly to your team. 
So you just over-explain everything. 
Multiple times. 
Different ways. 
It sort of works…
Until you realize you spent 30 minutes explaining something that should've taken 5. 


It’s not that you can’t manage with the thinking skills you have now
(you very obviously are. 
You’ve got the success you have today because of it)

It’s just that it’s so draining.
And,
It doesn’t have to stay this way.
 
As soon as you develop the thinking skills 
to make those tasks easier,
Not only do tasks take quicker,
You have a whole lot more energy at the end of it.
 
So, 
Be honest right now.

I spent years exhausting myself for no good reason

9 Things I had to unlearn:

1. Urgency equals importance.

2. Liking quiet made me boring.

3. If something felt hard, it meant I wasn’t cut out for it.

4. Outgrowing people meant I was abandoning them.

5. Overwhelm was just “part of the job.”

6. Protecting my energy was selfish.

7. My brain should perform the same way every day.

8. Saying no without explanation meant I was mean.

9. Discipline was the solution to everything.


Unlearning them wasn't easy
But each unlearn made everything easier.

Most people struggle 

because they’re trying to live inside 
the version of reality they wish they had
instead of the one they actually do.
 
You think something will take 10 minutes.
It takes 40. 
Now you're stressed, behind, and annoyed at yourself.
 
You expect your brain (and the world!) to operate like a machine.
It doesn't.
 
The moment you start understanding what reality is
(how long things really take,
what needs to happen first,
your true energy levels,
your true capacity etc)
Things start working for you.
 
Because you're working WITH reality,
Not against it.

P.P.S. What aspect of reality did you need to understand to get to where  you are today?

As a business owner with 50+ employees, 
my client had a to-do list a mile long. 

Jumping from one task to the next. 
Always moving. 
Always "doing."
 
On the outside? Crushing it.
On the inside? Overwhelmed. Stressed. Brain about to explode.
 
Productive, sure. 
But miserable.

Not because I told him to slow down.
But simply because I swap the question of:
"What should I do next?" to "What's the plan?"

I love a good system,
If it's done well, 
it does all the heavy lifting

People try to install systems
Before they systemize their brain.
Then they wonder why they can't follow the system 

 
My client set up her task management tool
Perfectly assigned to each team member. 
Beautiful.
For about two weeks.
 
It quickly became chaos and she’d beat herself up 
"Why can't I just stick to it?"
 
Except,
Her brain was all over the place.
So no system could work.
Instead of giving her another template
Or tool.
 
I helped her improve how her brain was thinking.
Organization. 
Prioritization.
Precision. 
These are skills required to follow systems. 
 
And now?
The systems actually work.
Because her brain can finally run them.
 
She told me:
"I used to label myself as stupid when I couldn't keep up.
Now I know it was never about being stupid.
It was about missing skills."
 
If systems keep failing you?
Stop buying new planners, templates or another app.

And please stop blaming yourself.
Make it easy for your brain to follow systems.

You're procrastinating,
because you're brain knows
what's going to have to do
even before it enters the situation.

All it takes is for a part of the task
to be a challenge for your brain
and you procrastinate doing the task. 


Once identify 
what part of the task
is a challenge for your brain,
you can solve that problem
and then
you'll no longer procrastinate 
on the task.

What if this year was hard,
not because 
you didn't try hard enough. 

Maybe it was because 
you kept applying effort 
to problems that required thinking.

You:

 • Worked longer hours on unclear priorities.

 • Forced focus instead of fixing what made focus impossible.

• Pushed through tasks that didn’t need to get done.

• Managed symptoms instead of training skills.


👉Effort was doing a job thinking should’ve been doing.


2026 can look completely different.

But only if you stop doing the same thing and hoping for new results.

Those are helping you make incredible moves.
 
And,

And those are making things, well, difficult.

But it’s super draining.
Because you're compensating.
Your strong skills are working overtime to cover for your weak ones.
And it's exhausting you.
I’m here to tell you,
It doesn’t have to stay this way.

Things that were hard in the past,
All of a sudden happen.
Naturally. 


P.S. What's something that easy for you that others find a challenge?

I never used to understand
why people picked a word of the year.
 
I still don't really.
But I do.

Because the first time I picked a word of the year, 
I didn't think much about it.
And,
Something unexpected happened.
 
Well,
I guess not so unexpected,
When you know about the
Reticular Activating System (RAS) in your brain.
 
You get about 11 million bit of info per A SECOND
Since that's too overwhelming 
(my brain is overwhelmed just thinking about it)
we only consciously notice 40-120 bits.


The RAS is a special system in the brain,
That tags when a peice of information as important.
So that way you do notice it in all the noise.


Well,
Back to the word of the year,
In 2023, for the fun of it,
I picked the word "relationships"
But didn’t do anything about it. 

 
Then,
I met Dustin Riechmann 
And he's all about relationships.
 
While previously, I would been "okay, that's cool."
Because my RAS labeled it as important,
I soaked up everything I could on relationships.
And without much effort,
relationships become a thing in my business.


2024 "Ease" was the word of the year.
Kay,
That one was bit more intentional,
but it's another long story...


2025 I chose more than a word,
I chose a phrase.
 
"Tank at 0"
 
Once again, my RAS kept it top of mind
And it served me SO WELL.
 
All of a sudden, I found myself saying the famous 
David Goggins quote at least once a day:
"When you think you've emptied the tank, you've only used 40%"
 
And I saw how true it was over and over and over again.

The coolest part is,
As you empty the tank,
You expand your tank.
 
So,
I'm no longer questioning if to choose a word or not 

 
This year I'm picking the word FUN
and excited to see what 2026 will be.

I don’t let. 
 
I know I’m not your mother
Or your boss.
 
And really,
You don’t need to listen to me. 
 
But,
It breaks my heart
Whenever you talk badly about yourself,
So I’m asking you for selfish reasons.
