Trey's Journey: Why Yours Matters

"Do what you are good at. Do what you enjoy."

That mantra has served me throughout my professional journey, and it has brought together the best group of talent I've ever seen at a PR firm.

From Dallas to Austin to DC to New York, the harder I worked, the more I learned, and the opportunities presented themselves to me. But I had to do it almost all on my own. No one taught me PR because my bosses were too busy to bother. 

On paper, my career was flourishing, but something was missing every step of the way. Each place I worked, I felt something was missing. I didn't like what I saw, how I was treated and how my colleagues were treated. But my bosses didn't listen to me, when I said things like, "Hey. We are on too many accounts." or "Is there a strategy behind just getting this client media coverage?" 

What was I missing? Being seen, listened to, heard, acknowledged and validated. 

Why was this missing? PR firms care more about profits than people, even though if you take care of your people, the profits come!

So, I just kept thinking that there had to be a better way. And I founded Ditto PR over 11 years ago under a simple vision that you take care of your employees first.

But there are a few things that matter to me:
1. Don't hire jerks. Toxic employees ruin culture. Hire kind people that are willing to work hard. 
2. Don't chase new business. It's a distraction to your employees and impacts their work on current clients.
3. Listen and make changes. When your people say they need support or help or there's something wrong, make changes. 
4. Reward people for amazing work! We have monthly and quarterly performance bonuses. 
5. Give your people the time and space to do good work. They can't do that if they are in meetings all day and on a ton of accounts.

Alchemy has evolved from an image and LiDAR analysis team to advanced geospatial services and Solutions to include our cloud based customer Platform.  We capture and analyze geophysical data, thermal imagery, ultra high resolution image data; both RGB and NIR, and terrestrial and increased LiDAR + image data. While at SpecTIR, an opportunity arose for significant new business using spectral imagers to analyze geological samples—a unique application of the company’s hyperspectral imaging technology. 

We conceptualized new upstream and downstream applications of core imagery analysis for mining and oil and gas, authored the business plan, and led the market research team to launch a new startup. 

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Led acquisition and integration of GeoSpectral Imaging (GSI) in South Africa, overcoming complicated South African regulations. 

■ Successfully modularized hardware and software to six countries.

■ Streamlined and standardized integration of new customers and diverse lines of business by devising an online order management system that translated customer’s technical requirements and managed material throughput, invoicing, and global sales commissions.

■ Negotiated initial agreements with global laboratory partner, ALS Geochemistry, capturing $4M investment and expanding to 6 global operations locations in 2 years. 

■ Successfully sold and captured more than $6M in Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects with Royal Dutch Shell, ALS Oil & Gas, Texas Bureau of Economic Geology, Energy Geoscience Institute, and other major oil & gas operators.

■ First in company to penetrate major mining and oil & gas companies, and first to penetrate new international markets, resulting in immediate revenue and new global partners. 

■ Integral in taking the company from domestic services to a global solutions provider, developing commercial, civil, and defense/intelligence customers and applications. 

■ Determined and managed domestic and international strategy, partners, clients, and in country export requirements

■ Supported programs at North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other global organizations with hyperspectral image data expertise and solutions— both terrestrial and airborne.
 
■ Drove 100% year-over-year sales growth for 4 consecutive years by developing and mentoring junior staff in applications development, client development, and contract negotiations.

I am a proud former GEOSPATIAL INTELLIGENCE ANALYST for the Predator, Global Hawk, and U-2 programs, where I was fortunate enough to participate in a wide range of airborne and UAV imaging programs from NATO and the DOD, to the Environmental Protection Agency and Emergency Management, and several foreign governments.  

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS 

■ Co-authored the Global Hawk’s Concept of Operations (CONOPS).

■ Supported state and federal Emergency Management Response with imagery expertise.

I’m Conrad Wright, founder of flyAlchemy, a veteran-owned drone-based remote sensing and geospatial intelligence company. With over 25 years of experience in airborne and terrestrial remote sensing, I’ve built a career around delivering complex data solutions that solve high-cost problems in defense, energy, natural resources, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

My journey started in the U.S. Air Force as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst, where I specialized in unmanned systems and developed a deep respect for precision, clarity, and operational impact. Since then, I’ve worked globally in over 30 countries—designing and implementing advanced sensing workflows using hyperspectral, LiDAR, thermal, magnetometry, multispectral, and full-motion video systems. I’m not just focused on image collection—I’m driven by what the data tells us and how it enables better decisions, faster action, and reduced risk.

At flyAlchemy, we’ve built a reputation for operationalizing powerful technologies—from long-endurance UAVs and high-end sensors to secure field-to-cloud workflows. Our team has supported clients with everything from UXO and IED detection to wildfire intelligence, environmental baselining, leak detection, and pipeline corridor mapping.
