𝟓 𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Monday's post showed what a $4K inventory mistake costs when the inspector walks the site.

Today: Some of the specific flags that trigger resubmittals. 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮? Answer in the comments.

Here's what often gets flagged:

1️⃣ 𝐃𝐁𝐇 𝐄𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐬: Your inventory says 18". The inspector measures 24". Now you have a credibility problem. 

2️⃣ 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬: The inventory shows 47 trees. The inspector counts 52. Five trees that now require explanation and mitigation.

3️⃣ 𝐆𝐏𝐒 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐭: Your coordinates say the oak is here. The inspector is standing 40 feet away, next to the actual tree. Not a minor discrepancy, and can trigger design problems.

4️⃣ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬: You rated it "Poor." The inspector only sees some deadwood. Now they're questioning every rating in your report.

5️⃣ 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: You called it a Laurel Oak. It's a Live Oak. Different species, different mitigation requirements, different replacement ratios.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞

The inspector is checking your paperwork, but more importantly, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲'𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲.

Any one of these can send your inventory back for resubmittal. Multiple red flags? That's when timelines slip, and budgets blow up.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 (𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 + 𝐦𝐚𝐩) 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭.
