Hi, I’m Trenton 👋

I help agencies and client-facing teams lead with more impact - strengthening client relationships, handling tough conversations and growing revenue by up to 35%.

Previously, I built one of the UK’s first UX agencies from scratch, scaled it to £3m, sold it and lived to tell the tale. Then I wrote a bestselling book called Human Powered and launched an accompanying podcast.

It's been a 20-year rollercoaster journey!

Oh, and in 2023, I took my kids backpacking across Asia and Africa for six months. We survived hunting in Tanzania, paint fights in India and leech attacks in Borneo.

I lead a cross-functional agile team of eight who are responsible for the Government Digital and Data (formerly DDaT) Profession Capability Framework. I am responsible for the product vision, product strategy, empowering the team, gaining senior stakeholder buy-in and prioritising in line with the organisation’s strategy. 

I also volunteer as a cross-government service assessor and a cross-government end of fast stream (graduate scheme) assessor.

Product Manager

Leading user research for the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Profession Capability Framework to support UK government teams establish capability standards. This enables DDaT professionals to develop in their careers and government departments to attract and retain skilled DDaT professionals to deliver simple, effective services to citizens.

As President of the Bright Futures Southampton Society I led a team of ten, initiated and maintained relationships with corporate stakeholders, organised university events with top graduate recruiters, and liaised with the head office to update them on projects.  At the Bright Futures national awards ceremony 2015 we won Newcomer of the Year and were finalists for Fastest Growing Society of the Year and the Collaborative Award.

Kwantu Private Game Reserve

I worked with game rangers and conservationists on a South African game reserve to aid animal health and land maintenance.  I fed rehabilitated lions, performed fence patrol checks, planted trees, tree chopped, road fixed, assisted the vet with sheep vaccinations and performed game drive monitoring.  I also contributed to a community project at a local school.

I taught western teaching methods and spoken English to school teachers in China.  I was responsible for the lowest set and learnt to adapt communication to ensure everyone in the class could get involved.  The programme developed my public speaking skills and creativity, especially through producing and performing in the ceremony.
