It's been a 20-year rollercoaster journey!

Oh, and in 2023, I took my kids backpacking across Asia and Africa for six months. We survived hunting in Tanzania, paint fights in India and leech attacks in Borneo.

Why should you care about your numbers?

If your bookkeeper appears to be doing OK and your accountant produces annual accounts that aren’t too surprising surely that’s that?

I’ve got news for you…

There’s so much more you could do to improve your business profits and performance with better information from your monthly accounts.

For a start, you could use your monthly figures as a basis for a reliable budget – rather than using some rough numbers on a spreadsheet that are guestimates at best.

And your budget can be linked to your monthly accounts so you can tweak forward plans quickly.

Then every month you can compare your monthly results to your budget and investigate the larger differences. That’ll give you ideas for making more money or reining back costs that you’d forgotten about.
