Reason why many tokens fail?

They're designed to... 👇

- Launch at $300M FDV with fake traction
- No revenue or business model established
- Large airdrops let freeloaders dump and leave
- Bad market maker deals rug the liquidity pool
- Insider tokens on TGE = PvP w/community on launch
- Hype fades, volume drops and price crashes

Key point: Absurd valuations and super high FDVs.

If a token starts with a smaller and more reasonable market cap, controls what tokens it gives out and doesn't seek to mass extract?

You can check Avici for what can happen.

Launched before October 10th and still above the launch price.

Lower valuation means it can recover more easily given market conditions.

Team is still small and building early traction, so expectations area not as high as a $300MM FDV that raised millions via VCs.

My point?

One team can build with their community and grow together.

The other?

Hopes to do a quick cash grab, which rarely works. 

With all of the issues happening regarding token holder rights and ownership coins, I think we're going to see MetaDAO and similar platforms rising in 2026.

People are done buying this overpriced garbage with super high FDVs and zero use case.

Crypto was crashing so I ditched work and watched my nephew play with his band as they tour the US. 

What happens next in web3?

I think we'll continue to see the pump and dump utility tokens attached to no real product failing. 

Only the insiders are making money from these tokens.

Instead, companies will realize the value of web3 tech and how it can positively impact their businesses. 

Some of the highest revenue/employee companies have been in web3 and we're using it to pump and dump 💩coins?

Key point: Tokens do not have to be attached to a DEX or CEX with a chart to have value. 

Tokens can represent literally anything, so long as there is a compliant ownership structure attached.

The days of launching tokens and having them pump with no fundamentals are long gone. 

Now?

We need to stop the greed, insider pilfering and short-term thinking.

With regulation and proper use of the tech, we have an opportunity to show how this tech adds value to customers.

Currently, many seem to be focused on extracting value from customers rather than adding it. 

There are few businesses that have survived on a mindset of extracting value from customers.

A casino comes to mind as one of them 😂

What is your current sentiment on tokens?

In 2021, all you needed to launch was a whitepaper. 

Now? A real business model and real users. 

I recognized this shift long ago.

Everything pumps, until it doesn't (just like dot-com).

What remains?

Those who have real business models with real customers and make real money.

How have Uniswap, Aave, Compound, and such protocols survived?

Making money, of course. 

This is why we began building in a "Revenue Model" into our tokenomics work.

Literally integrating the token utilities into the business model itself.

NOT MAKING THE TOKEN THE BUSINESS.

For example, if we modeled out most NFT membership business models we'd find they make a lot of money upfront if NFTs sell.

After? They make money only on resale (if at all) and the revenue often sucks when calculated.

Eventually cash is burned and the treasury runs dry.

An example of a terrible business model and why near all NFT membership with limited supply failed.

Regulation is finally enabling value from outside our web3 world to come onchain.

Will we use this opportunity to create real businesses that leverage the power of web3 tech?

Or, will we keep shilling tokens and dumping on the very customers we seek to serve?

Many have asked me:

What's the future hold for utility tokens?

I think we'll see a lot more lower FDV with higher float.

Reason why?

Hardly any of the high FDV low float have performed.

Insiders want a high FDV as their tokens are worth more, hence it's easier to dump and extract from retail. 

I thought about this recently:

What makes a successful web3 VC?

They don't have to pick the right team, a business with revenues, product-market fit, etc. 

All you need is your name, money (from LPs), fancy branding, partnerships, etc. 

In web2?

You had to actually be right about something.

Web3 just follows the same extraction playbook, until it stops working.

Once it stopped working?

The money dried up - who figured?

Until we learn that the path to business is value creation for customers, not extraction, our space will never thrive.

Because when everyone is greedy and thinking only short-term, it'll be a miracle if a project survives.

3. Create consistent content in the niche and use comments on other creators for additional exposure

They can't tolerate the initial period of suck (we all had it).

I realized something recently that blew my mind.

Think about it...

Some of the highest revenue/employee companies recently have been blockchain-based.

Literally, business models that were previously impossible.

Yet in web3?

Many are using the tech for short-term pump and dumps vs actual customer value creation.

Whether we enter an extended bear market or not, I'm going to continue moving Tokenomics.net forward.

Our passion and motivation will be helping businesses get onchain without them having to navigate scammers and trash. 

I will continue to oppose high FDV low float profit centers for insiders.

$200M-$300M 💩coins that can't even hold their launch price for a week.

No company will move itself forward by dumping on its customers.

Also, if the only way investors can get a return is by dumping tokens on users, it furthers the issue.

For our space to thrive, it has to be set up to do so.

Prioritize "Ease of Work" as a leader.

This simple test works extremely well.

I've managed hundreds of people in my career. 

Some people I hired drained my time. 

Others? They freed me to do my best work.

I want my whole team to be filled with people who have agency, are intelligent and use the FAFO model to continuously learn.

Nobody should be afraid to fail or try something new.

I'll note a simple way to focus on hiring from EOS.

1. Desire to do the job
2. Ability to do the job
3. Capacity to do the job

If someone can't hit all three, don't hire them. 

Then, test to make sure they're not overestimating abilities.

Why Your Funding Round Is Stalling (And How to Unblock It).

Fundraising is not a numbers game. It is a signal game.

If you have pitched 20 investors and haven't received a term sheet, the market isn't "tough" - your fundraising asset is defective.

Most founders try to fix this by "polishing the pitch deck" or asking for more intros. This is a mistake. You cannot design your way out of a structural problem.

I do not "coach" fundraising. I fix the signal.

As a serial founder ($75M+ raised), I act as the "Red Team" proxy for the investors you are trying to close. I look at your business the way a VC does: looking for the specific red flags that are causing them to pass.

The Seed Stage Trap:

At Pre-Seed and Seed, you don't have years of data. You have a narrative and a deal structure. If those are slightly off, investors will ghost you without telling you why.
