I was selected to advance the workforce management function in this global organization providing industrial services, environmental solutions, and emergency management. Shortly after joining Witt O'Brien's, my role expanded to integrate Cadre Management and Talent Acquisition into a single, aligned unit. 

In this role, I've worked to cultivate cross-functional relationships to conduct gap analysis and needs assessment as a platform for introducing an aligned workforce planning process. I've also had the opportunity to spearhead collaborations to launch HRIS architecture project, developing standardized labor categories and job descriptions to lay the foundation for continued growth and improvement to our talent management strategies.

Director, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management

Serving as a Division Disaster Director was one of my most fulfilling roles! I had the opportunity to put my passions and strengths to work through workforce readiness, training and development, project management, relationship management, and - of course - traveling across the nation to lead humanitarian disaster relief operations.

In this role, I was selected to lead the division's Training and Exercise Division Capability Working Group where I worked with all 9 regions to assess, plan, and rollout a variety of courses, exercises, workshops, and leadership development academies. Connecting with partners, volunteers, and employees to train and develop the workforce that enabled our ability to prevent and alleviate human suffering was always the highlight of my days, and I'm fortunate to have built a network of close relationships as a result. 

To develop others, you have to develop yourself! And as a life-long learner, the Red Cross was a wonderful place to work because the organization is dedicated to developing talent through mentoring programs (like the one started in our division!), job rotations, talent identification and development, succession planning, and a variety of internal and external learning and exercise opportunities. The most meaningful of these in my tenure included the partnership between Harvard's National Preparedness Leadership Institute that established a national cohort that received a year-long Meta Leadership training program.

Division Disaster Director - Southwest & Rocky Mountains

As the Regional Disaster Officer, I served as part of an integrated, cross-functional Senior Leadership Team that helped guide strategy and decision-making for the region. I provided strategic vision, direction and planning, and staff (employee and volunteer) and budget management for our Disaster Cycle Services programs (chapter readiness, community preparedness, response, recovery) in an 84-county jurisdiction. I lead Disaster Relief Operations, such as the Colorado Wildfires and Colorado Floods responses. Additionally, I served as the Red Cross representative to key state-level partners such as the State Offices of Emergency Management and Colorado Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and I support the Red Cross relationship to FEMA.

Regional Disaster Officer

As the Director at the Pikes Peak Chapter, I provided direct program planning, management, and service delivery for our Disaster, Service to the Armed Forces, International Services, and Volunteer Services. One of the most critical aspects of my program success here was focusing on the identification and development of top talent in of our volunteers. This is where my passion for training, coaching, and leadership development flourished.

Volunteer and Emergency Services Director

United States Army Reserve

During my time in service to the US Army Reserve, I deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003-2005 where I supervised personnel and supplies at the Class I Food supply yard at FOB Speicher. This included sending products forward to multiple troop units within immediate combat area. Additionally, I supported troop movement while working at the bulk and retail fuel supply sites, provided convoy security during nighttime recovery missions, and supported humanitarian missions. Stateside I led squad of eight soldiers and accounted for their presence and possession of sensitive items.

Decisive, result-oriented leader with a knack for big-picture thinking and over 15 years in leadership. My journey has been shaped by a commitment to people development, and a dedication to life-long learning and leading with kindness. From the Red Cross to the military, I've navigated complex landscapes, honing my skills in training and development, program management, change management, and crisis response. A dedicated Military Veteran and unwavering Humanitarian, I am passionate about making a positive impact in mission-focused environments. This journey has instilled a dedication to creating a culture of collaboration, kindness, and accountability, and I endeavor to provide servant leadership that fosters innovation, growth, and improvement. 

My dedication to my own professional development includes a current pursuit of aPHR and ATDP certifications. Previously, I've participated in Meta Leadership training offered by Harvard National Preparedness Leadership Institute, FEMA’s Homeland Security Exercise & Evaluation Program (HSEEP) training, and attended Master Exercise Practitioner Program (MEPP) training at the national Emergency Management Institute. I have a proven track record of developing high-performing teams, managing change, resolving conflict, and advancing the workforce through targeted training, development planning, and coaching. I have also led and supported several disaster relief operations, such as the Colorado Wildfires and Flood responses as well as multiple hurricane operations.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am interested in the impacts of supply chain management and legislation on food instability. As a budding hobby farmer/rancher, I want to see people reconnect with and grow/raise their own food.
