Have you ever been so super proud of someone???
I mean really, genuinely proud - brought to tears proud?
Well, this is me right now.

I am beyond proud and happy for my dear friend and source of inspiration, Manju Dawkins, MD. I met Manju at HlthUSA 2024, where she was preparing for her Thimble pitch. We were part of a group of physician attendees, organized by Nisha Mehta, MD who hosts the Physician Community group. 

My eyes caught Manju as she was dressed in the sparkling, vibrant and rich emerald green color that reminds me of the majestic Pitons on my home island of Saint Lucia. But despite this my heart said - 'This girl needs a hug'. And boy was I right. 
She was petrified and deeply uncertain of her task. 
Manju was set on this day to pitch Thimble, and well if you know me, I am as nosy as they come. So I asked for more information about Thimble. And with an open heart and a shine in her bright eyes - she quietly shared her big dream with me.

It turns out that in her hands, she had the exact product my family needed from 2019, when my daughter, diagnosed with a rare children's disease, was getting all the needles a hospital could give a child. 
 'You've got this', I said  but what I meant to say was 'You have got to do this. My child desperately needs your solution. And me, her anxious, overwhelmed and tired mother NEEDS your solution'. And all the other kids in and out of healthcare now - they need you and they need Thimble!' ---- but no pressure. I was honored to sit with her in her fear, but draw out the grit, persistence and relentlessness she has within.

And well, she pitched!
She walked out and shone as brightly as a founder can, when sharing their heartfelt solution.
It is the simplest and most elegant way to calm a child with needle fear. And it also comes with the cutest stickers. My kids love their patches! (especially the recovery patch)

Since then, I have been happy to watch Manju reach, and stretch, and grow. Yes, she is still scared, but she is doing the thing anyway.

This week she pitched Thimble at the NBA!! Yes - The NBA! All the way to the finals!! Yay!!
So so amazing!
