Scribl is a website for self-publishing audiobooks.

* Implemented full stack (RoR with Goliath API server) of feature to publish books to third-party sites; this allowed immediate monetization of Scribl.com, which reached over $1,000 of revenue per month within a year of feature launch
* Modified and improved Go book cover generator and connected it to Goliath server
* Implemented extended SoX mp3 verifications for audiobooks, reducing publishing time for authors by providing instant feedback when mp3s do not meet requirements
* Provided regular updates and bug fixes to the site
* Performed minor sysadmin duties via AWS

Software Developer

Lime Brokerage LLC

* Worked on Java back-office applications, including variety of critical compliance and accounting reports, start-of-day processing, and end-of-day processing.
* Performed maintenance and updates as necessary to existing reports and daily tasks to ensure uninterrupted operations.
* Wrote service within Lime’s Portal (web infrastructure) to communicate with switches via SNMP
* Co-led project to develop JRuby-based automated configuration generator, working with Redmine API, to reduce human error and improve on-boarding of accounts.
* Transitioned all start-of-day processing to Wedbush upon acquisition to ensure day one readiness. Included all critical functions required by clients for trading, e.g., each client needs proper buying power.
* Wrote several reports in Java from scratch to automate tedious accounting tasks to increase efficiency and revenue, such as fee reconciliation for tiered-fee customers and per message billing to recoup costs for port usage on certain exchanges.

Senior Software Engineer

South Boston Community Health Center

Planned and led monthly user group meetings; created complex reports on diabetes and childhood immunizations to benefit the patients and help the health center to track accountability and secure funding.

Logician/Database Analyst

Served as project manager on PHProjekt, a PHP open-source suite; programmed a script using LDAP that adds users to Unix when created in Windows.  Assisted in regular technical support duties around the health center.

IT Intern

Jaina Morgan is currently a software engineer at JGMS supporting a contract for the NOAA/NWS.

Prior to this, she was an educator for Chegg's Thinkful Web Development bootcamp, which included material on JavaScript, React, Node.js, and basic data structures and algorithms. She also worked on maintaining the curriculum for almost 4 years, most of which were leading the team. She started these roles at Bloc which was acquired by Thinkful and then Chegg. Previously, she was a software engineer at Lime Brokerage as a developer for their back office applications.  Always eager to learn new things, she had to constantly expand her knowledge about the ever-changing high-speed trading industry.  Since Lime Brokerage works with large data sets, her team was constantly working on ways increase scalability and performance in their applications.  She is also interested in software engineering as a tool to assist in different aspects of society, like finance (at Lime Brokerage), and healthcare (South Boston Community Health Center). In order to further her learning on these topics, she recently completed an MITx workshop on Quantitative Biology where she worked with MATLAB, R, and Python to earn her certificate.
