I lead strategy which means I get to wear many hats while supporting our cross-functional teams:

- Support strategy, design, and branding teams with direct client contact and execution help.
- Help the sales and success teams with pre-sales, pitch decks, execution strategy and customer support.
- Work directly with the CMO and Head of Marketing to define strategy and manage budget.
- Support the HR team by directly helping our Head of People do our best to ensure our employees are happy (high retention rate, 4.8 on Glassdoor and certified “Great place to work”).
- Part of the management board working closely with the CEO on decision.making about the company’s culture, strategy and growth.

Finished the Relume Design League with 3rd place, and I’m grateful for everyone who supported me. 🙏🏻

The 30-minute challenge did something important:
It brought me back to why I became a designer in the first place.

No systems. No templates. No shortcuts.
Just craft, pressure, and a blank canvas.

We rely on systems and AI now, and that’s great for speed and scale.
But every so often, you need to return to pure craft.
To your own judgment, your own taste, your own clarity. 💪🏻

That’s what this challenge gave me.

Huge thanks to everyone who voted and sent messages.
And big respect to the other designers. Seeing how differently we approached the same brief reminded me how human this craft still is.

And thank you to Relume for creating a space where designers can push themselves, show real craft, and explore the balance between strong foundations and AI.

A weekend of building the business… and the life we want. 🥂

Last weekend was packed, and I enjoyed every part of it.

Spent a full day at Philippine Design Fest 2025, organized by Lad Gutierrez  and Nabbe Francisco  of Filipino Graphic Designers (Filancers) 

Events like this remind me how alive and evolving the creative scene is here in the PH and how much we want to elevate Filipino creatives to the world.

One reminder I want to highlight from the speaker lineup:
The mindset shift from “I make designs” to “I help brands grow.”
From service provider to strategic partner.
That mindset changes everything, and I want to echo it to everyone in the industry.

Some highlights too:

Your product screenshots are doing too much. 😵‍💫

I’ve been reviewing a lot of SaaS visuals lately, and most founders try to cram an entire dashboard into one frame. It shows the product, sure… but it doesn’t tell the story.

While building this moodboard, the examples that stood out were Superhuman, Notion, and Remote. Clean. Intentional. Each visual does one job: guide attention to the value.

That’s the part many teams skip.

A product visual isn’t documentation. It’s a narrative device.
It should highlight the moment that matters, not the whole system.

If you’re trying to show the whole product, try the opposite.
Pick one moment. One action. One promise your product makes.
Let the visual breathe.

People understand your product faster when you stop trying to explain everything at once.

Want an edge in 2026? Know where AI shouldn’t be.

Just watched the Superside summit and loved hearing how Figma, Apollo, and Microsoft are actually using AI today and what they expect by 2026.

What stood out most wasn’t the tools.
It was the mindset.

Kae Neskovic from Superside said it best:
“The best leaders of 2026 will know not only when to use AI, but when not to use it.”

And Lulu Hoffmann from Figma added:
“AI gets you to version 0.7, but version 1.0 still needs human craft, taste, and empathy.”

That feels exactly right.

AI can accelerate the work
but it can’t replace the parts where judgment and taste matter.

We don’t need AI in every process
especially the ones that depend on intuition, context, and being human. ❤️

and the brief was “Starbucks, but make it perfume.”

For this one, I kept the Starbucks DNA on purpose.
The structure, the layouts, the illustration style that already make their design system work so well.

Instead of reinventing it, I treated the brief like a translation:
same language, different story.

It proved that you can stay familiar and still push the story in a fresh, creative direction.

Sometimes I ask myself, is this really a purple cow? Do we actually stand out?

It’s been eight weeks since I started building Executive Network (ExN). An idea that’s been slowly and quietly forming for years in the back of my head.

It’s the convergence of everything I know and want to do. A translation of what I want in my personal and professional life. It's an idea built around a community of people working on matters of substance. A platform for positive impact on the world.

I hope it's something you'll want to be part of. 

The brand is almost ready to reveal. I’ve been working with the talented team at Moveforth Studio to translate vision into form. Once you see it, I think you’ll understand what I’ve been trying to build. 

The process has been creative, technical, and deeply personal. I've spent weeks in my head solving, refining, iterating, all safely in the conceptual stage. Now comes the hard part: execution.

Building alone forces you to wear every hat. It tests your skills and limits. You doubt your clarity, your direction, sometimes even your sanity. But I've heard that discomfort means you’re onto something real.

Feedback has been my anchor. Each honest comment, whether validating or critical, pushes this idea closer to what it should become.

I know that many executives and founders share the same quiet truth: that entrepreneurship and leadership can be isolating. Friends and family may support you, but they can’t fully relate to the weight you carry. That’s what I want ExN to change.

In the next few days I’ll share more about what ExN is, what problems it aims to solve, and how I see it fit into the professional community of Manila.
