The other day I was arguing with Obaid that Peter Parker is the only super hero that reports into marketing.

And he was like, "he doesn't report into marketing, he's a photographer."

And I was like, "yeah, art dept falls under marketing."

And he was like, "okay, maybe in saas, but at a newspaper that's not really marketing."

And then I was like, "what do you mean?"

And he was like, "photographs are basically like part of the product in a newspaper. Not marketing."

And I was like, "so what you're saying is he's a product led marketer?"

And Obaid was like, "dude, no. Plus he's a freelancer anyway."

And I was like, "that's an irrelevant argument. peter parker is the only product-led marketer in the marvel universe."

Then Obaid paused and I was thinking, "yeah...got em."

Then he just said, "No."

And I was like, "huh?"

And then he was like, "he's actually a performance marketer."

And I was like, "there's no evidence that spider man worked as a performance marketer while simultaneously being a freelance photographer for the daily bugel."

And he was like, "don't you remember that scene where Uncle Ben says the thing about great power and responsibility? It's like the most iconic line in Marvel."

Then he brought up the scene (shown below)

And I was like, "shit...you're right. He was a marketer."

And Obaid was like, "yup."

Then he left the huddle and I was like, "wait...that's what i said."

Then I turned on The Dark Knight bc DC is better than Marvel.

I’ve been noticing a disturbing trend.
People who can’t do math.

Really simple math like providing change.

A couple weeks ago at Trader Joes I had $41.07 worth of groceries. I gave the young cashier $51.25 and he just stared at it for way too long, like it was the most complex calculus equation he'd ever seen. He then proceeded to give me $6 and some change. 😂 

And then last night, I picked up our take out food order from a local Mediterranean spot. Total was $30.38. I gave the young lady $40. She resourcefully used a calculator to do the math. But then got that same puzzled calculus induced glaze-over I'd seen before. She looks up to me and asks me "what does two quarters make?". 😅 

This has obviously got me questioning the fate of humanity, especially if we have to go to war with AI in the future.

But mostly, I'm really, really concerned about how the heck this next generation is going to be able to comprehend B2B pricing models!
