This week, as Suppeco’s founder, I was invited to spend two highly valuable days at the renowned Fast Growth Icons event.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Uday Singh for your outstanding excellence and hospitality. I was genuinely humbled to meet so many accomplished and fascinating business leaders.

The last two days have been significant for Suppeco, giving us clarity of thought and alignment on what comes next - in fact, confirming our direction.

Excited for 2026 - and yes, a little nervous. The last five years at Suppeco have been about building a brand that stands on its own. When SRM is mentioned, Suppeco is in the conversation. That is a bona fide brand play. Now it’s time to scale.

CPOs and COOs - who owns SRM as a discipline?? 

We know that value harnessed from a strong SRM function is now more important than ever before, perhaps existencial for some organisations. 

But who claims that value creation? Does Procurement stake their claim? Or do Operations make a play? 

SRM, now clearly on the radar for most forward thinking CPOs - whilst at the same time, effective SRM certainly executes operationally. 

Interested to hear views.

SRM - Procurement or Operational? 

Five years on - can we still say post-Covid as a frame of reference?
Are we now more measured and sensible by default? 
Plenty of organisations have slipped back into old ways.  

I can say as far as Suppeco is concerned that Covid clearly marked a slow but enduring turning point. Attitudes did change - they always do after a major event - and then they slowly slip back into complacency. But the pandemic was different. Perhaps the seemingly never-ending seismic hits felt by supply chain since, have shocked companies into longer term resilience. Any company that isn't scanning 3-5 years ahead in today's environment is trading on luck IMO.
