After years in tech sales chasing success—President’s Club, titles, stock options, and fancy perks—I burnt out.

In 2020, I hit rock bottom.

For 4 years, I struggled with depression, anxiety, stress, and a deep sense of disconnection. Then I was fired for performance.

Despite “having it all” on paper, I tumbled quickly and felt lost.

I'd had enough and was faced with the choice to start living differently.

I decided to rebuild my life from the inside out. Doing the inner work I had been ignoring my whole life.

I started writing about mental health online, grew a following of 30,000+, and built a 6-figure coaching business. Things were back on track. 

But in 2024, I slipped into a deep depression.

And for the first time, I experienced thoughts of ending my own life. 

As scary as that was, it drove me towards a bigger purpose.

In August 2025, I completed a 3,007-mile walk across America for men’s mental health raising $70k+.

Now I’m on a mission to end the stigma around men’s mental health, and help 10M+ men live clear, strong, and free by mastering their inner game.

So I'm going to put my phone and laptop in the safe and spend the week reading, journaling, doing yoga, sound bath, and of course...tanning.

I took a vacation from my business to help rescue dogs

Becuz after my biggest year yet, the money isn't enough

It's what I can do with it that matter more

Sure I could buy a nice car or fancier clothes to look rich

But those things don't make me feel rich. 

I've been volunteering all year with dog rescues 

And when I tell people, they are shocked I have the time.

When I'm with dogs, time doesn't exist.

I’m not thinking about revenue goals.  
Or launch plans.  
Or what to write on Linkedin.
 
I’m just present. Purposeful. Human.
 
Building a business gave me freedom.  

But using that freedom to help, that’s what makes me feel wealthy.
 
And maybe that’s a reminder we all need:

Success isn’t about having more.  
It’s about becoming someone who has more to give.

- We all have different niches, different offers and different approaches…and they all work!

I opened Linkedin this morning and for once it felt human again. 

A big Linkedin guru admitting he took 6 months off and it tanked his business

A woman turning 50 but rejecting the adage that 
"50 is the new 30" 

(She said because her 30s were chaotic with life's biggest decisions coupled with the pressure to be successful and I couldn't agree more). 

I felt viscerally relieved by both.

The "highlight reel" and "peacocking" here is too much

And I'm ashamed that I've been guilty of it too.

I fell into the trap of this culture.

But the tides are turning (hallelujah)

We all want REAL.

We want to know that others are not perfect.

That they struggle with the same insecurities we do (even though we think we're too grown to have them)

It's so easy to feel broken when we compare ourselves to the 10% that people show off here

And then we feel broken that we're still comparing ourselves to others (🙄)

But a friend said 5 words to me that set me free:

"You're not broken. You're evolving."

So is this platform.

And so are you 💜

This platform doesn’t need more polish
It needs more people willing to show their evolution.


Ps I wrote this because I need to hear it myself. It's time to evolve, and not be afraid to work through it out loud.

For most of my corporate career, I was pretending. 

Pretending to care about my quota, shareholder stock value, corporate priorities, some happy hour I didn’t want to go to….

My decision to leave the corporate world was the decision to stop pretending.

To have my outsides actually match my insides.

Now the MOST important goal I have in life is to never have to pretend to care about things I don’t care about.

If I’m succeeding at that, that’s enough for me.

Average job: “You must be at your desk by 9am every day.”

Amazing job: “Do your work from anywhere as long as it gets done well.”

It's time to ditch the old belief that how much we work is how much we’re worth.

Find a job that values the way you work

Not the way an assembly line worked in the 1860’s.

You deserve better.

Most new coaches don’t have a marketing problem. 

They have a courage problem.
 
They post “helpful tips” instead of powerful opinions.  
They teach when they should take a stand.  
They say what’s safe, not what’s true.
 
But here’s the quiet part no one says out loud:  

If your content doesn’t polarize a little, it’s invisible.
 
No one follows a coach who blends in.  

They follow the one who makes them feel something.

And what makes us feel something?

Bold and unapologetic truths

(but not TMI, be cool)

We admire people who say what we're too afraid to admit

And when we admire someone, we want to be more like them

Which means, we're more likely to hire them. 
 
So, you don’t need more information in your posts.  

You need bigger balls.

(yea, I said it).

Let's be there for each other.

“I’ve tried everything… but nothing seems to work.”

Nothing feels worse then being stuck here 👆

Trying different tactics, different approaches, maybe even different niches but still not seeing results.

Here’s what I know from coaching 250+ coaches: 

Most of the time, it’s not about doing more. 
It’s about doing what actually fits you.

Trying to copy someone else’s path doesn’t work. 
Chasing trends...also doesn’t work. 

The stuff that sticks is the stuff you actually know: 
↳ your story, your experience, your perspective.

That’s the work people respond to. 
That’s what makes you stand out. 
That’s what actually sells.

So stop bending yourself into a shape that’s not yours. 

Start building on what only you can bring to the table.

Because lord knows Linkedin doesn’t need another "coach"

It needs the realest version of you, honest perspectives and all.

PS me on the couch, no makeup, writing content, my happy place.

The wins that change your business rarely show up on your Stripe dashboard.
 
We're often so obsessed with $$ that we miss the shavings that eventually turn into a pile.

Last week, my clients had wins that won't show up in their Stripe:

- One client's client landed a $130K offer.
- Another got tapped by their Fortune 500 company to present on men's mental health.
- A third had a massive SaaS company DM them asking to buy their course in bulk.
- Another finally learned to say the quiet part out loud in her content and had her best week ever.
- And one pivoted her niche, ran a masterclass where 31 of 37 people showed up, closed someone on the spot, and booked 4 more sales calls (ok this one does show up on Stripe, but it was too good not to share)

None of these started with "I made $20k this month."

They started with showing up when it felt like nothing was happening.

With posting when engagement was crickets.

With refining their message one post at a time.

The shavings pile up.

And then one day, you look around and realize you've built something that matters.

Not just to your bank account.

To the people whose lives are changing because you didn't quit.

Your dream clients will never “like” your posts.
 
But they’re watching you in silence.
 
Look, leaders don’t gamble their reputation with a thumbs-up on a public feed.  

They lurk. They click. They read. And they judge quietly.
 
And if you’ve been waiting for them to show up in your notifications?  

That’s why your DMs feels empty.
 
Here’s the part nobody wants to admit:
 
LinkedIn is still a workplace.  

People aren’t trying to get caught looking like they’re shopping for a coach.
 
So they do the safest thing possible:
 
↳ They stalk your profile at 11:47pm  
↳ They read everything  
↳ They never tap “Like”
 
But they do decide whether you’re someone they’d trust with real money.
 
Which is why your profile is doing more selling than your content ever will.
 
If your profile isn’t doing these 3 things, you’re leaving $$ on the table:
 
1️⃣ 𝗦𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽: no guessing, no jargon. 
2️⃣ 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻, not a brochure (don't be boring)
3️⃣ 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘆: a guide, a cheat sheet, something they can click without explaining to their boss.
 
And if you’re sitting there thinking,  
“Why do only other coaches like my posts??”
 
It’s because they’re trying to work the algo in their favor.
 
Your actual buyers are quiet… but they’re there.
 
If you're going crazy trying to figure out how to get them to buy from you....

PS being in Mexico last week was so needed...it was -15 celcius in Toronto yesterday!

I can't stop thinking about Google X's 'Eraser Test'

Imagine this:
They built a tool that can pinpoint a single event in your life, go back to that moment, and erase it.

Not the memory of it.
The event itself.
Gone from your timeline like it never happened.

They ran the experiment with over 12,000 people.

First, write down the most traumatic event of their life.
Then they choose: erase it or keep it.
But they’re warned: if you erase it, you erase everything that came from it.

The friendships.
The resilience.
The depth.
The wisdom.
The way it shaped who you became.

Guess what happened?

99.99% said “No…I’d keep it.”

And these weren’t minor inconveniences.

These were the moments that nearly broke them.

Humans are funny...

We forget our own track record.

We’ve survived 100% of our hardest days so far.

And we’ve grown because of them, not in spite of them.

As business owners, the posts that get crickets, the clients who ghosted, the nights you almost quit

They’re not breaking you. They’re building you. 

If you're in a season of 'hard' right now, good. 

It's exactly what you need to build the version of yourself that you’ll be proud of later.

I spent the last week off of Linkedin, and didn't miss it.

(which is hard to admit as a Linkedin Coach!!)

It's a reminder that we are more than our titles.

And that breaks are necessary and won't tank your biz.

(that's scarcity talking, it's BS)

While in Mexico, I made sure to volunteer at a dog rescue to wash the 200+ dogs there.

Yes 200 dogs!!

I visited this same rescue in March and some of the same dogs are still there :( 

They are safe, have shelter and get fed, but they are starved for affection.

(like this doggo Ocho in the video 💜)

Their only chance at a family is North Americans adopting them.

(we love our dogs like humans here)

I didn't want to come back here  after a week and try to make more money

I want to use the power of personal brand to support the causes I care about

In today's economy, attention trumps experience. 

If no one knows who you are or what you stand for
You're invisible in the market.

Attention creates options:

New roles. 
Consulting gigs. 
Coaching clients. 
Speaking opportunities. 
All from visibility.

BUT the online space feels more crowded than ever

We all feel it...everyone and their dog is a coach now

So the most important skill to learn right now:

How to get attention.

When we can Chatgpt and Google ANYTHING

What actually stands out is real life stories

The ones where you share the quiet part out loud

The stuff that can't be Googled.

Stop trying to compete on knowledge.

Start sharing you: your experiences, your struggles, your wins.

Because in a world where information is free, authentic attention is priceless.
