Ladies and Gentlemen, Today I revoked my LinkedIn identity verification.
Not by accident. By decision.

Here is what some other experts and I found out and why I think every professional on this platform should know about it.

LinkedIn uses a third-party company called Persona to process your passport scan, your NFC chip read, and your live biometric selfie when you verify your profile. I did the verification back in 2024.

Persona has a $2 billion valuation.

Its most prominent institutional backer the investor who led both its major funding rounds is Founders Fund.

Founders Fund is Peter Thiel's venture capital firm.

Peter Thiel is the co-founder and sitting Chairman of the Board of Palantir Technologies the most powerful government data intelligence platform on the planet, currently holding a $10 billion US Army contract and building the data integration backbone for federal agencies under DOGE.

In February 2026, security researchers accidentally gained access to Persona's entire source code — 2,456 files — hosted on a FedRAMP government-certified server.

What they found inside was not a basic age-check tool.

They found:
→ 269 distinct verification checks across 14 categories
→ Adverse media screening for terrorism and espionage
→ Watchlist matching against intelligence databases
→ Suspicious Activity Report filing with FinCEN (the US Treasury's financial intelligence unit)
→ Codenames from active intelligence programs embedded in the code

This is the infrastructure processing your government passport on LinkedIn, Discord, Reddit, Roblox, and OpenAI simultaneously.

I am not saying there is a proven data pipeline from Persona into Palantir's systems.

I am saying the architecture is in place. The investor alignment is real. The government endpoint is documented. The FinCEN pipeline is confirmed.

In a world where digital sovereignty is becoming the defining question of our decade the least we can do is ask: do we actually know what happens to our biometric identity data after we hand it over?

I revoked mine today. That is a start.
