Sales saved my life. 

In 1985, my parents and I emigrated Iran for better opportunities in the United States.

Not bad for an immigrant kid from Iran. 

Selling is the most important skill you must seek.

It took me a while to learn this, too. Here are a few more lessons leaders need to learn ASAP:

1. A-players are proactive problem-solvers. They fix things before you ever know they're broken.

2. A-players don't just want good pay. You also need to give them top-tier treatment and flexibility.

3. A-players combined with quality systems is a growth cheat code. Having both changes the game.

Those are absolutely true in the mortgage business.

Based on conversations I've had with people, they're true in pretty much every other industry, too.

Find great people (10% of the workforce are A-players)
Pay them great (pay peanuts, get monkeys)
Treat them great (A-players want A-leaders)

You're just a few "super-whos" from accelerating your results.

I tell every loan officer (and basically everyone else, too) to build on social media (ahem: business media).

That's because in the new world, you get paid for:

- The value you provide
- How much people trust you
- How big the scale of that trust is

I've closed on countless opportunities using:

- LinkedIn
- Instagram
- YouTube 
- Facebook groups 

Being seen before you are known, liked, and trusted accelerates your career like you won't believe. 

Those platforms have also given me high-level connections who have opened other doors. 

The days of getting a good job and hoping you are promoted are over.

Like that or not, it's true.
