The test most of us normal folks haven’t done ! 
Have reasonably good health as measured by traditional tests fasting blood sugar normal , HbAc1 ok but at border to be declared prediabetes 
Overall lean structure with a potbelly 
And then a post by Prashant Desai, have you tested fasting insulin , test it keep it below 5 etc …. 
So next time I dd blood work did fasting insulin as well 17.8 ! but hey the normal range said 3 to 25 , so am home with plenty to spare , ( my mind goes what was Prashant even talking about ? ) 
A month later my wife was doing her blood tests so told her to do fasting insulin as well , she got a reading of 3.8 , that’s when I got a jolt so did some detailed reading & came to find out that Fasting insulin & Fasting sugar together can be used to find  HOMA score & anything above 2 is insulin resistant ! I was at 4.2 or so highly insulin resistant !!!
And here I was thinking insulin resistant meant diabetes , but I am not so asked my GP and came to learn that’s cause my pancreas is working overtime & well to compensate hence my fasting blood sugar & HbAc1 etc are normal , with increase in age pancreas efficiency would drop & I was surely headed to be diabetic in say 4 to 5 years .
So practiced the following 
1)    Dinner at 7 – 8 pm 
2)    Breakfast only 12 hrs after that on most days , easy to do actually
3)    Increased protein to reach 1gm for every kg of body weight 
4)    Reduced number of eating sessions per se ( read drop in between meal snacking ) 
5)    Changed order of eating to protein veggie first 
6)    After every meal  500 steps of walking sometimes add a few squats or calf raises 
7)    Supplements omega 3, burberine HCL & magnesium glycinate 
Wanted to check where all this was headed , post 1 month bloodwork 
FBS dropped from around 95 -97 to 77 
Hbac1 dropped from 5.8 to 5.6 
Fasting insulin dropped from 17.8 to 15.1 
Still insulin resistant but to a lower degree but best of all potbelly 94 cm to 90 cm with hardly any weight loss , Long haul ahead 
So thank you once again for the effort you do Prashant Desai & to all my friends who do not know yet , check fasting insulin & your HOMA score . Better late than never
