As a researcher with Odisee, I manage the operational aspects of the research project "Duurzaam en professioneel facilitair management in scholen".

In this role, I focus on:
➡️ Gaining a deep understanding of the sustainability and facility management challenges schools face, with an emphasis on energy, compliance, and financial considerations.
➡️ Coordinating training sessions, seminars, and networking events aimed at principals and technical experts in the education sector.

Additionally, I supervise the student team working on the development of a networking app designed to connect facility management professionals - drawing on my interest in business analysis.

High Tech Lab maakleerplek

At the High Tech Lab circular makerspace, I played a role in shaping and executing the marketing strategy for a growing community of makers and innovators of Leuven. The most rewarding aspect of this experience was building a community from the ground up. High Tech Lab has since become part of Maakleerplek vzw.

In practice, I led the team of that developed the marketing strategy, which included:
➡️ Defining business objectives and translating them into measurable KPIs, social goals, and target channels.
➡️ Developing supporting assets and tools to drive brand awareness and engagement.
➡️ Establishing a visual identity that aligned with our mission and resonated with our community.
➡️ Engaging with key stakeholders to foster relationships and promote the makerspace's offerings.

I'm currently active as a student consultant for a consultancy project offered by junior enterprise AFC. Simply put, the aim of our project is to make AFC a future-proof organisation. While it is an important partner among junior enterprises, we want to research how it measures up against the competition. There has been a growth of new organisations over the past few years, which offers the possibilities of specialization but also challenges in functional) overlap. AFC has a pro-active mindset and wants to obtain a clearer picture of the possible ways forward. I am part of a fantastic team responsible for this research.

A bit about my background:
With a career that spans both freelance and in-house roles, I've had the opportunity to wear many hats. I’m a true generalist at heart, comfortable bridging disciplines and tackling challenges across various areas of business. 

What excites me the most?
The process of analysis. I thrive on diving into complex situations, dissecting the details, and crafting actionable strategies. I’m less focused on the execution itself - for me, the value is in delivering clear recommendations that lay the groundwork for success. And of course, the human element is key. I find great fulfillment in witnessing teams and individuals take action and pursue their goals with confidence - and I enjoy playing a role in making that happen.

As a bonus, I’m also an unapologetic fan of The Office, so if you ever feel like reaching out with a clever cold email, you have my full attention. 👀

Belgium Impact is the platform for social entrepreneurs that inspire, inform and interact.
Initiated by His Majesty the King, 25 organizations have worked together on a new platform for and about social entrepreneurship, launched in June 2019.

Our objectives are
a) Promote social entrepreneurs with the Belgian population.
b) Inform people about activities and expertise about social entrepreneurship.
c) Strengthen the interaction between social entrepreneurs and the ecosystem.

Promeco is an economically tinted, professional student organization at the VUB (Free University of Brussels). Despite its primary focus on economists, students from every faculty are allowed as members of our team. Promeco not only offers its members the possibility of translating learned concepts into practice, it also tries to close the gap between students and companies.

As part of my internship at the ING, I conducted a study on the pharmaceutical and biotechnological sector, guiding the way for opportunities and possibilities within the Corporate Clients team of ING Belgium.

Philippe Eiselein is a sustainability expert on a mission to transform the world through social entrepreneurship and a circular economy. 

He is a senior researcher at the Center for Sustainable Entrepreneurship research at Odisee University of Applied Sciences and a professor of social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility at the Business Department of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics (commercial engineering), and works on sustainability projects related to cross-sectoral collaborations, social entrepreneurship business models, and competence skills and profiles. His doctoral thesis deals with the "Management of Social Enterprises: scaling up and conflicting objectives." His ongoing investigations have been presented at dozens of international conferences, such as the international association of Business and Society (IABS), the international conference on new business models (NBM), the Academy of Management (AoM), and the annual Social Entrepreneurship conference (ASEC). 

He has taught entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, research methods, and project management for over eight years. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at various international conferences and workshops. He also coordinated Belgium Impact between 2018 and 2021, the national social entrepreneurship platform that was initiated by His Majesty the King of Belgium.
