That’s the lie most of us were handed early, reinforced quietly, and rewarded socially.

• Independence equals strength
• Handle it yourself
• Don’t need help
• Don’t talk about what’s heavy

I believed it for a long time. If you are reading this line, you may believe(d) it too....

Today at North Point Community Church I was invited to attend th North Point Men’s Breakfast, (THANK YOU John Deushane for thinking of me AND giving me my first Bible this week! Book of John. A good place to start. Suggested by a good friend, Richard Baldwin.)

Today's message landed harder than I expected. Because the issue isn’t faith, age, or stage.--- It’s connection ---

Samer Massad walked the group through some data that silenced the room.
• 61 percent of men say they have no close friends they can truly lean on.

...then added these nuggets of reinforcement...
Loneliness increases your risk of dying early by 45 percent.

That’s higher than:
• Air pollution at 5 percent
• Heavy drinking at 20 percent
• Obesity at 30 percent

The longest study of human happiness and health ever conducted and  conclusion is uncomfortable and clear.

The quality of your relationships matters more than achievement, discipline, or success.

This lie survives on pride, fear, and drive.

Pride says you should handle it alone.
Fear says closeness exposes you.
Drive says slowing down to connect makes you weaker.

It doesn’t. Isolation does.

We carry hidden habits, thoughts, and shame like anchors.
They don’t stay neutral. They pull you under quietly. They drown you.

All you need is enough knowledge to take the right action to get the desired results.

Having worked over 20 years in practical situations and studied under the rule of KISS (keep it simple stupid) that edict has followed me through all the varied roles I have pursued since. I found out the hard way that you may have to change careers several times in your life. From engineering I went into photography and digital imaging (I saw the first CD Rom for a computer and digital camera used in the UK very Heath Robinson compared to Today.) not using PCs and not Macs. To do this I had to build my own machines which eventually led to building machines for others and so into the IT business. This gradually went from just building machines to Networking and support until it ended in 2009. In my IT days I used the internet extensively and for the past few years have been looking at the marketing done on it. This led to working on the internet which have become my current engagement.


 The philosophy I have always based my work on is it must be practical, simple and easy which can be a lot more difficult than it sounds. Having spent a lot of time around what some would call the world of internet marketing. Some make it sound very complex and difficult. others try to blind you with science and then you have those who give you so much information you end up not knowing what to do first. 
 


 I first broke down the information for myself to use for my own marketing then I came across the idea of local marketing. So I took all that information found what worked and created the latest reincarnation of Local Internet Marketing Magnets. With this we can either teach the business to do for themselves or we can do it for them. It works because it is based on the fact that all business are different and therefore the requirements are different there is no one fits all.
