Hi, I’m Derek – a recovering financial advisor turned fintech founder on a mission to make money less intimidating and a lot more human.  I’ve never been a fan of stuffy suits and corporate jargon – in fact, you’ll more often find me in flip-flops than a tie. (Someone once jokingly compared me to “The World’s Most Interesting Man,” but I promise I’m mostly just a guy who loves a good story and a good laugh!)

After 20 years in the finance world, I came to believe we could do better by actually connecting with people. So I ditched the old-school playbook and built a fintech company aimed at fixing how we connect around money. (Think dating app, but for finding the right financial advisor – minus the awkward small talk.) My philosophy is simple: tech should enhance human connection, not replace it. Whether I’m co-hosting a podcast to challenge the status quo in financial advice or brainstorming a new solution, I keep the focus on real conversations and trust and try to have a lot of fun doing it.

On the personal side, I’m a proud dad and husband who’s learned that life is too short not to prioritize what truly matters. Born in Ireland and raised by international parents, I’ve got a bit of an adventurous streak. I love world travel, live for ocean sunsets (surfboard nearby), and I’ll happily trade business talk for a story about your favorite trip or the classic car you’re tinkering with.
