I come from a financial background, with over a decade of experience in several roles between Australia and Sri Lanka. 

In 2019, I quit my full-time job in Sydney to travel and take a career break, and moved across the planet to Mexico. Later, I started building a remote business drawing from my experiences and adventures.

Every time a customer buys from you, they read something first. A website. A blog post. A product description. An Instagram post. Or even the fine print on the packaging. And in that moment, they decide: Do I want to know more? Do I trust this brand? Do I feel something?

I’m not saying only words sell, but they definitely influence. If your brand can make them feel something, even for a second, you win a little. You get a tiny space in their cluttered minds. And that’s everything today.

That's where I come in (hope I’ve convinced you that you need a writer aka me, hehe).

But really, I’m in awe of the power of words. So much so that I left the software industry to pursue my love for writing. (Am I crazy, or am I crazy? We’ll never know.)

And honestly? Best. Decision. Ever. (Until AI takes my job. But for now, we’re good.) 5+ years in, no regrets. That’s cool, right? Right? 😬

I know this because I’m happy, and my clients seem to be too. I get feedback, yes. Stinkers, no. So yay?

This is what I do:

👉Write blog posts, interview based feature articles (my favourite kind), website content, social media content, newsletters, glossary articles, product descriptions, and everything else a client can possibly ask. 
👉 Help people build their presence on LinkedIn. Ghostwriting for founders, employees, and anyone who wants to be seen (but without the headache of actually writing).
👉Put on my cap and be a content strategist when clients don’t know what to say and how to say it.
👉I’m also a voice-over artist and UGC creator (portfolio in progress) because variety keeps me sane.

Sorry to disappoint, but I haven’t picked one yet. And that’s by choice. My strongest suit is curiosity. I ask the right questions, and put your story in a way readers will actually get and feel.

Nikitha Warriar

Zinal Doshi was my first freelance client. She was also the first client who stopped working with me because I wasn't doing a great job. And my respect for her doubled after that.

She is that rare client who is super collaborative, understands how content works, how it is not transactional, but a two-way street. I remember the conversations we used to have while discussing blog topics and content for The Flapper Life. She loves what they do and is deeply invested in building their brand, and this is the kind of clients every person wants. You want to be working with someone who has that passion to keep trying, keep growing. And I always respected this quality of hers.

Then came a time when she started giving me more work because of our rapport and the trust she had in me, and for some reason, I wasn't able to do justice to all of them. We had conversations about that too, and she gave me chances to pull up my socks, but somehow I wasn't able to. In retrospect, I know the reasons from my end, and have worked on them since then and become a better professional now, but I wasn't able to retain her back then. But since the time this happened, I started respecting her even more.

Yes, you want clients who will stay with you for years, and never complain about you or your work, like an angel sent from heaven. But once in a while you need such clients too. Who will tell you when you're messing up. Who will tell you to do better because they have seen you do it before. Who will ask you to be the professional you're supposed to be. And who will do all of this in the kindest, empathetic, non judgemental way. 

Even in our last conversation, she said it's a difficult job that we writers are doing. Writing for someone else is not the easiest job in the world. And while she acknowledged I might not have been the right writer for her back then, she didn't point fingers at me. Just gave me a much needed nudge to do better because she knew I can.

I might never be able to raise an invoice in her name again, but she gave me a great lesson for my career. Much bigger than any invoice can match.
