It took everything I had…

But here are 12 lessons I learned along the way (that will change your life forever):

1) You don’t need to wake up at 4am.

What you need is clarity and control, not hustle.

2) Always bet on yourself.

The worst-case scenario is that you end up right back where you started. AKA working a 9-5 again, which is most people’s best-case scenario.

3) Discipline beats everything.

You don’t need to be motivated. You need to be consistent. Especially when you don’t feel like it.

4) Your health and relationships ARE part of your net worth.

Don’t chase money at the cost of your body or your people. Both take years to repair.

5) Side quests make you interesting.

Travel, train in martial arts, learn a language, find creative hobbies. If you only talk about business, you’ll be boring and one-dimensional.

6) Keep people close who root for you.

I make it a point to keep in touch with my family and spend time with loved ones. Loyalty matters more than likes.

7) Competition makes you sharp.

Humans need something to strive toward. Whether it’s in the gym, in the home, or in business, you should always be taking action on something.

8) Your calendar = Your life

If you can’t control your day, you don’t control your direction. Time is the only resource that can't be replenished.

9) Most friends aren’t real friends.

If they’re not pushing you forward, they’re pulling you back. Audit your circle often.

10) Work ON the business, not IN the business.

It's your job to delegate, not become the bottleneck in the business. Study the Eisenhower Matrix and you'll see what I mean.

11) College didn’t teach me many skills.

Actually starting a business did. Pay attention to who you're learning from.

12) Make sure to celebrate the small wins.

Don’t take your eye off the ball. But it’s good to slow down for a moment to enjoy the view.
