4 years ago: I would’ve told you that posting on LinkedIn is a waste of time. 

And it pains me to come on here and admit… 

I was wrong. 

The truth is, to most people, the idea of posting on LinkedIn feels extremely uncomfortable and a little pointless. 

”It’s just a bunch of corporate people shouting about how good their life is” 

And while that may be true in some cases… 
↳ The idea that posting on here is pointless is far from the truth. 

LinkedIn is a gateway to: 

→ More leads 
→ More opportunities 
→ More awareness around your brand/business 

And I can safely say that without posting on LinkedIn… my career wouldn’t be half of what it is today. 

And I certainly wouldn’t have a personal brand with 2k+ followers. 

Now I don’t say that to show off (especially after I just called out LinkedIn for being a professional shouting match about who’s the best 😂)… 

I say it because if I could speak to 19-year-old me, I’d be begging him to drop his assumptions and start posting. 

So, if you’re in that spot right now as an individual or as a business, posting on LinkedIn is the biggest opportunity in 2026. 

Because if you get it right, there are endless opportunities on this platform.

Okay, I lied. 

But what I can tell you is the importance of learning how to switch off. 

Working hard is great. Working late some nights is valuable. And putting a lot of time into your career is nothing to be ashamed of. 

However, these things are only positive if you have a place where you can go to switch off. 

Not a place where you pretend to switch off, but a place that genuinely makes you forget about the outside world. 

And for me, that place is in nature. 
More specifically, streams & rivers. 

There’s something about the sound of the running water, 
the birdsong coming from the riverbank, 
watching your line float on the water, 

It’s honestly a feeling that the man-made world can’t recreate. 

No amount of money or material things could replicate half of the joy & peace that comes from being in that environment. 

And that break every weekend allows me to come back week after week and put 100% into my work. 

So I’m not here to say sack off working hard… I’m here to say work hard, but also learn how to completely switch off on the weekends. 

If you’re someone who has a hard time with that, take a step back from the man-made world and spend some time in the natural environment that your body & mind have evolved to live in. 

You’d be amazed by what nature can do for you when you give it your full attention. 


(I hope you all enjoy my mouth-breathing while showing off some of the trout I caught last season 😂)
