Four weeks ago, this was just a small idea between a few people who mostly knew each other from the internet.

And today, we work as a well-running machine that saves the lives of many GTM teams and their revenue targets.

In just 30 days while currently sitting at $1.2K MRR👇 

🟧 Rebuilt the whole API for the future (which also includes more signals) and completely rebranded the company

🟧 Generated €300k in pipeline (SEO + outbound + trials + thought leadership + WOM)

🟧 Manually onboarded all beta testers so we can gather feedback and improve the tool with the speed of light (already made a few changes)

🟧 Introduced 3 layers of verification for our funding and M&A signals while also launching the beta version of the job changes signal (track internal promotions, key decision makers leaving and new hires)

The wildest part?

Exactly a month ago, I decided to bet on myself and quit my comfortable job as in-house growth leader which was easily one of the scariest moves I’ve ever made.

Life does look different after coming back to Europe

- No more all nighters
- No more warm weather & hikes
- No other 8 founders to be surrounded with and hustle on a Sunday

and sadly no more pha thai 🍛 

However, that did not stop us from setting some ambitious goals for the month:

🧡 $5K MRR -> Currently at $1.5K 
🧡 Significant improvement towards code quality and interface

I already know that it's going to be a slower month and probably by far the worst it could ever be seeing the trajectory our bootstrapped company.

Next week we will also send out "migration messages" to the 3k people who registered and used the old version of Signalbase, so I am extremely curious to see how will that impact us

Of course, the grass is not always green as a founder...but here is a sneak peek into my mindset

"Whatever you do...don't stop filling up the pipeline. It's totally fine for the majority of people to not convert as long as we get the valuable feedback so the product can get better with every single day."

For the rest? At least start "planting the seeds" for Q1 while wrapping up some conversations from last month.

In essence, go out there > attract people who think like yourself & trust the vision > get better together.

Week 3 of bootstrapping Signalbase (Previously LeadsOnTrees) to $1M ARR

Here are a few highlights from this week includes: 

🟧 Close to 90 GTM teams are helping us validate our upcoming PLS motion 

Although the team experienced a slight delay with launching the trial experience, at least we generated some good momentum and WOM.

This week I also found a few new angles and still manual workflows which improved significantly our outbound efforts.

Side note: Everything that I do to improve our GTM motion, will later be translated within the tool so you can drive even more pipeline for your team. 

Because you can only train an AI agent PROPERLY if you know what's working and ignoring all of the LinkedIn noise. 

🟧 Narrowed down our ICP even more this week 

A few deals broke down / moved to nurturing mode as a few teams wanted the 2028 version of the product. However "negative" experience actually helped me get a grip on who needs us most right here, right now 

🟧 Solid company culture in the making (work hard = party hard)

Let's start with a harsh reality check...building a signal-first GTM engine from scratch is not for "the weak" ones 🤠 

It takes A LOT of work! But once you get the foundations right, everything gets 3x faster while helping your team do a better pipeline forcasting.

Here’s how I’m approaching it right now by combining what I’m doing with Signalbase and a few lessons from my past experiences as a growth leader 👇

🟧 Mass outreach with the right context in mind for the right subset of people

David Kübler and I were recently chatting about Signalbase (Previously LeadsOnTrees) and what came out as one the best insights from the convo was doing mass outreach based on repeatable use case.

Example: Someone just got certified around a topic relevant to your business - let's say AI GTM certification.

Bonus tip: Don't sell directly, try to provide value first and then ask for feedback on what you are currently building. (80% higher response rate)

🟧 Capturing signals from paid

This is a trick I learned from Daria Kalinina who kept on monitoring the LinkedIn ads manager for companies engaging with your ads. Then pass that list to your SDRs and let the things happen. 

It’s an easy way to spot hidden intent before anyone fills a form.

🟧 Signals about companies who are not in your CRM (what Signalbase does best)

Which ICP-like companies just raised funding 2 minutes ago? Whose VP of Sales just left? Who’s hiring a CRO?

Although basic, these signals are still golden.

Once I get the intent-verified list from our platform, I push that data into Clay and layer a custom signal / variable. 

🟧 Social listening (competitor focused - coming within Signalbase in Q1 2026)

Is a competitor making noise? Did they screw up? Is there a market shift I can capitalize on?

If yes,  jump in fast and make sure to highlight the pain. Speed compounds advantage.

🟧  External social listening (posts coming from the rest of the market)

It starts from following the right people who attract your ICP. Once they post a guide or resource that ties into your product just reach out to the people who qualify 

Sometimes, it really is that simple

🟧  Engineering social proof (aka using familiarity to your advantage)

You’ve probably seen those “frames” others post from me in the past. Each one is a micro lead magnet, a familiarity hook that warms cold outbound.

Because let’s be honest very cold outbound is tough. But when there’s some recognition or shared context, your open rates explode.

And after sharing all of this...it is true that requires a lot manual work especially in the beginning! 

But if it was easy, everyone would already be winning. I’ll keep you posted on how this playbook scales.

Halloween passed but GTM teams are still haunted by poor data hygine 💀

Just last week, A fractional CMO told me that one of her clients wasted millions on complex setups and tooling.

Surprised? Not really.

Week 1 of sharing some love around Signalbase (Previously LeadsOnTrees)

Big shoutout to Mitchell Keller and Adam Andrewjeski, both an extremely underrated GTM experts who has been sticking with us from the earliest days of the company. 

Honesty, I can't recommend them more to the GTM teams out there who are trying to build their first signal-based GTM engine.

"But Georgi...what's LeadsonTrees????"

Previously incepted as simple indie-hacker project now turns out to be something way more valuable than anyone could have ever imagined. 

Still a lot to be done, but we are pushing hard on the rebranding and rebuilding the API for the long run. This is only the beginning from my battle with firmographic-first outbound.

Could you imagine spending 63 hours a week into validating lists with prospects… 🤯 

That’s exactly what one GTM engineer told me recently.

My next question 👉 “Why don’t you build your list around the signals first?”

Here’s the thing: buyers don’t buy like they used to. They’re smarter, more self-directed, and inundated with generic outreach. 

Yet most signal providers still sell massive databases with tens of thousands of accounts, but are many irrelevant. Basically throwing dust into the eyes of GTM teams.

But what if you could start with signals? Who’s hiring, expanding teams, adopting new tech, or showing real behavioral intent?

Then layer firmographics. Only keep the accounts that truly match your ICP.

Result: Less manual validation, higher relevance, better conversion, and your SDRs stop being list janitors trying to send mass emails.

It seems that majority of teams talk about "efficiency", but never take the step forward to it. Because outdated firmographic-first lists cost you time, money, and brand credibility. 

Honestly the goal should have never been more leads. 

It should be about having better leads within your pipeline who are going to close faster without burning your team out.

“The funding round article is dead.”

Sifted recently published a piece arguing exactly that and it’s hard to disagree once you see the logic.

For years, funding news worked like this:

 ➡️ Startup raises money
 ➡️ Sends a press release
 ➡️ Journalists publish “Startup X raises €Y”
 ➡️ The ecosystem learns about it the next day

But this model is collapsing not because people care less, but because the information is no longer exclusive.

Which is why the article hits the nail on the head: “Now throw AI into the mix,anyone can ask ChatGPT for information about companies.”

To cut it short, the article predicts a future where some tool automatically aggregates funding updates from startup websites and social feeds, but let’s be honest — that tool already exists.

And it’s called Signalbase.

Today, GTM teams don't need to manually check for next-day articles. They get all of this verified data in real time.

Historically, vendors have preached that they’re selling “ready-to-buy” leads. But that’s the biggest lie you can ever tell an experienced GTM exec or expert.

Buyers buy differently now, but most sales tools are not built for the new ways of doing GTM. Maybe it’s a bit of an unfair advantage that my background is in marketing?

With Signalbase (Previously LeadsOnTrees), I banned all related wording from our product, support, marketing and sales efforts for the following reasons:

1️⃣ Having intent data or signals in your hands does not guarantee a sale.

If your brand, product, or outreach approach sucks, there’s no way in hell someone will even get on a call with you. You can spend $80K a year on sales tech tools — it still won’t work.

2️⃣ Not all intent is weighted the same.

We’re honest about what we build. Using Signalbase is just the starting point of your workflow.

But hey, at least you get a verified list of companies that have shown intent meaning they at least will be willing to check your message or hop on a call if you do the rest of the process well.

A simple website visit ≠ a prospect being ready to buy. That’s just where everything starts.

So please, next time you look into buying an intent provider, ask yourself:

"Are they moving with the market, or just throwing dust in my eyes?"

Most outbound efforts fails long before the first message is sent
