I’m Tay.

I grew up in San Francisco and Hawaii (firmly on team El Farolito and team Spam), with a fair amount of time spent in Southeast Asia, and now I’m based in sometimes sunny Montreal (bagels are also better then NYC).

My work background’s also a bit varied. I spent five years making wine in Napa before deep diving into startups and tech. Bootstrapped our last company and successfully exited in late 2022. That journey led me to help co-found Palisade, an email security solution built to help navigate the recent uptick in cyber security threats.

Outside of work, I like experimenting in the kitchen and crushing good food.

I've been passionate about technology since my teenage years. Early in my career, I decided to drop out of college and leave our Big Four consulting jobs to start our first tech business.

To me, technology is the closest thing to magic in the real world.

My last business was bootstrapped, and I exited in 2022 after more than a decade of passion and growth. As CTO at CareerUp, I've always been obsessed with infrastructure and cybersecurity.

We're now building Palisade to help companies fight against the looming cybersecurity crisis, exacerbated by AI-assisted scammers scaling their phishing operations. With ongoing changes in regulations and constantly evolving security protocols, companies should have access to technology that helps them deploy the latest security layers at the click of a button.

this morning my #openclaw ai agent sold an iphone for me on facebook marketplace

it created the listing, researched the right price, and managed over 150 conversations from buyers

it negotiated, answered questions, scheduled pickups, and held firm when lowballers came in

once the buyer confirmed pickup, it closed the listing and notified everyone else it was sold

all of that happened through a simple chat on my phone

i didn't open facebook once
