Having decided to take a sabbatical to go travelling, I secured roles at Marketing and Events management agencies in both Sydney and Brisbane. In doing so, I combined my desire to travel with developing an understanding of how culture variances can impact the approach to Marketing.

My role was the creation and implementation of an effective marketing strategy for a portfolio of clients. This included the successful use of digital marketing tools and the planning, implementation and management of over 70 events. Provided general marketing support to the Senior Marketing Manager for the law and tax books division. My main responsibilities included co-ordinating book covers; planning and implementing review campaigns to maximise coverage of titles; organising and attending book launches and running book renewal campaigns. Skills developed included: editorial and proofreading skills; event organisation and management skills; stakeholder management.

Conducted work experience at this London based publishing house where I assisted the marketing team where necessary including proofing back cover copy, writing press releases and designing and constructing advertisement leaflets for new titles. The experience provided the foundation where I became interested in publishing and in particular Marketing.
