Welcome to my corner of LinkedIn — where corporate marketing meets creator economy.

By day, I'm the Associate Director of B2B Social & Content at Business Insider, where I lead organic social strategy for our advertising division. My focus: highlighting the impactful business journalism coming out of BI Studios, amplifying BI Live events, and building BI's first-ever employee content program. Prior to this, I helped take TIME, a 100-year-old brand, into a social-first future, amplifying tentpole events like TIME100 and Woman of the Year, and leading marketing and social for TIMEPieces, TIME's web3 initiative.

By night (and weekends), I'm a content creator and creative entrepreneur. In 2025, I scaled my creator business to six figures while working full-time. Much of my content explores how corporate creatives can balance both worlds without burning out (or getting fired). As a creator, I've partnered with brands like Lyft, Yahoo, Sprout Social, Mailchimp, and more to bring my community of social media and marketing professionals resources that will elevate and uplift their careers.

I also share with my audience of entry- and mid-level marketing professionals on Linkedin back-to-basics marketing insights that help them build real social media and digital marketing skills, not just chase trends.

I spent a year wondering why I was never asked to work with Hootsuite again. 

Recently, I found out the reason.

As a child of immigrants, and a first generation American, I’m often thinking about the footprint I’m leaving behind.

Much of what I do is for the support, wellness, and appreciation of the people who brought me to this country.

People who came here, learned the difficult language, graduated from college, became professionals, and navigated systems set up to make them fail.

All so I can one day get on the internet and post my silly little videos and make more than any of them could ever fathom.

Today, those same people carry around their passports regularly as proof they belong here — a country they’ve been in for 30-40 years. 

Just in case they are detained. 

Just in case they are harassed. 

Yesterday, I found out that I have never been asked to work with Hootsuite again because I was being divinely protected.

And now I will never again question whether the opportunities I don’t receive are about me.

The same way I will never again entertain working with brands that profit off my back, while supporting the hunting of my people.

Last week, I attended Northwestern Mutual’s Rich in Knowledge, Rich in Legacy dinner led by Anthony H. Williams, CFP®.

At the table were five incredible Black women in media, openly discussing something Black people are discouraged to talk about: MONEY.

As a first-gen woman, my understanding of money has been an amalgamation of what little my parents taught me, what gaps I could fill with YouTube, and what I've had to learn the hard way.

But finding myself in these spaces confirms that my path, although often uncertain and led only by faith, is still the best direction for me to take. These women were honest, grounded, ambitious, and straight up baddies.

I am so happy to be in a world where Black women can and continue to be all of the above.

Your first 30 days as a social media manager are about implementation.
Your first 30 days as a social media director are about translation.

As a manager, you're focused on:

→ Learning the tools and workflows
→ Understanding the content calendar
→ Auditing accounts and identifying gaps
→ Building relationships with cross-functional teams

Content. Community. Culture. Then conversions.

As a director, you're focused on:

→ Building relationships with executives
→ Learning how social ladders up to company KPIs
→ Understanding business goals and revenue priorities
→ Translating strategy into language leadership actually understands

Filling gaps strategically.

The shift isn't just about seniority. It's about what you're being measured on.

Managers are measured on execution. Did the content go out? Did it perform?

Directors are measured on impact. How did social contribute to business goals? What's the ROI?

If you're making the jump from manager to director, the biggest adjustment isn't the workload. It's learning to communicate your strategy in terms of revenue, visibility, and business outcomes, not just engagement and impressions.

Your execs don't need to know the nuance of your content calendar. They need to know how every piece of your strategy connects to something they care about.

One is personality-driven. The other is transparency-driven.

The top dawgs are in Davos this week. So what better time to explain wtf I do in B2B social and content than now, the busiest week in B2B ever?

Here's a week-in-the-life in B2B, Davos edition:

→ Lots of coffee. Scroll through overnight mentions and updates. Perpetually behind because today is yesterday in Switzerland.

→ Social reporting and content finalizations. Brand and EGC content approved. Assets edited... again. Final approvals secured.

→ Panel recordings watched and clipped. Pull top quotes and moments for brand and EGC (exec) content. Review the Davos Whatsapp that's been live since 7 AM for context. Send for review.

→ Catch on-the-ground reports from the newsroom. What're things looking like on the snowy streets of Davos? What brands stand out? Which activations are pulling our execs in? Rewrite, reposition, and report to marketing and advertising audiences through a B2B scope.

→ Work with photographers and events team on the ground to capture shots, quotes, and key moments for social and wrap decks.

→ Amplify every single past project, partnership, and adjoining offer mentioned on the ground, at panels, etc. The people need context 👌 

→ Lunch? Maybe. Probably eating while on a call with about positioning our offers strategically.

→ Remind execs to take pics. Who did you meet? What did you discuss? Create strategic retargeting plan to capitalize on relationships.

→ Exec content writing check-in. Making leadership sound like leadership.

→ Brand communications. Internal updates, external messaging, making sure everyone's aligned.

→ Log off. Mentally draft tomorrow's newsletter in the shower anyway. Focus: Event offers.

And somehow still feeling like I didn’t do enough 🙃

Business Insider in Davos, 2026

This is the first year I've set revenue goals that actually scare me.

Not because they're unrealistic. But because hitting them means I have to grow, not just produce more.

Here's how I'm approaching goal-setting this year:

→ Start with last year's numbers. What did I actually make? What types of partnerships came through? That's my baseline — not a guess, but proof of what's possible.

→ Set revenue goals AND expense goals. I mapped out what I'll spend on tools, contractors, and resources. Because revenue means nothing if you don't know what it costs to run your business.

→ Pay yourself intentionally. I set a salary I want to pay myself from my business this year. Not "whatever's left over." A real number.

→ Build in rest. Even with ambitious goals, I blocked out weeks with no content, no sponsored work. Scaling without recovery is just burnout with better branding.

The mindset shift that's making this feel different?

I'm not trying to overhaul everything. I'm getting a little better at each part of my business ✓ learning bookkeeping ✓ tweaking my editing style ✓ being more strategic instead of more anxious 😅

Scary goals don't mean chaotic execution. They mean growing with intention.
