Some PMMs get promoted without delivering impact.

Who rises fastest in PMM often has very little connection to who’s doing the best work.

You can…

Deliver on time (or early).
Nail the largest launches.
Talk about what you accomplished.

But you still don’t get noticed.

You haven’t mastered the art of strategic visibility.

Strategic visibility is what will earn you trust, influence, and ultimately, a seat at the table.

What most PMMs don’t realize is that visibility isn’t about volume, it’s about framing.

Two PMMs can do the exact same work, but the one who gets noticed is the one who knows how to position it.

→ Good PMMs talk about what they did.
→ Better PMMs talk about what they solved.
→ The best PMMs talk about what they made possible.

They draw a straight line from their work to business outcomes, and they build simple, predictable rhythms for sharing results.

You can think about it like this:

→ TASK LEVEL

The PMMs who stay overlooked tend to communicate at the task level:

“We launched X.” “We shipped Y.”

It’s accurate, but it’s not particularly meaningful.

→ PROBLEM LEVEL

The PMMs who start getting traction shift to the problem level:

“Here’s what we unblocked.”
“Here’s what improved because of this work.”

People start to see the connection between PMM and progress.

→ POSSIBILITY LEVEL

The PMMs who become indispensable operate at the possibility level:

“Here’s what this made possible for customers.”
“Here’s how this moved the business forward.”

Now they’re not seen as executors, they’re seen as strategic drivers.

Language shapes perception.

I just used Gong's AI Builder to build a competitive battlecard in 2 minutes 🤯 

I used a very simple prompt and the output was way better than I expected. It mined Gong calls and delivered:

-Quick overview of the competitor + our advantage + a key insight
-Our winning differentiators, including what to say
-How to respond to common objections
-Breakdown of what the competitor does well, where they struggle, and why customers choose us
-Discovery questions to ask, positioning tactics, and closing strategies
-Flags that indicate a strong fit
-Feature comparison table
-Final talking points
-And includes links to specific calls if I want to listen to the customer quotes or positioning tactics first hand
