Here are the eligibility criteria we put in place

What problem are we solving here?

#1 cause of churn = bad fit clients...

Not quantifying numbers on a sales call is like a doctor letting a patient get away with saying ‘ah i don’t drink that much alcohol that’s not the issue….’

How many units per week?

“don’t know exactly but not many”

What do you drink may I ask?

“Just beer, rarely spirits”

Pints of beer or bottles?

How many times a week do you drink beer?

“not that often honestly that’s not the issue trust me”

Ok, so less than 5 times per week?

“No a bit more than that but not very often”

Ok so 10 times per week for beer, then once per week for spirits?

“Err i’d say two-3 beers after work maybe more on the weekend, then i’d maybe yea have a gin/tonic if it’s a birthday or event or after work so yea something like that”

And there were events in the past two months like this?

“Not really no”

Ok so 2 events per month where you’d go out and drink beer + spirits?

“Past two months yea, 4 actually it was a work event”

And you’d have a small gin or a large double shot normally?

« Er I would normally get a double to be honest! »

And may I ask a final question, what beer is it you go for?

« Stella Artois, so nothing too strong »

Ok so 10-15 beers during the week, weekend is 3 beers at an event + let’s say 2 gin tonics. An average of 2 per month in the past 2 months.

Stella is 4.5% =, one of the stronger lagers. So that works out at 2.5 units per pint. Gin is 2 units for a double. 

So that works out per week at an average of 25-37.5 units from beer per week, plus 1 unit per week average if you have 1 double shot of gin.

So 26-38.5 units per week. 

The recommended limit is a maximum of 14 units spread over 3+ days with 2 alcohol free days In the middle. So you’re at least 2x almost 3x over the recommended limit on an average week.

Sell from the wrong place, and you’re a commodity.
Sell from the right place, and you’re a premium.

Stop obsessing over “what you sell.”

For most businesses, it takes months before content turns into clients.

Sure, you’ll occasionally land someone fast. But most of your ideal buyers?

They’ll watch you quietly.

• They’ll see your posts explain something they care about.
• You’ll end up on their shortlist without even knowing it.
• They’ll remember your examples because they relate.

And when their timing and budget line up
you’re the first call they make.

That’s the game.

Not : 

“How do I close this week?”.

“How do I get on the shortlist for when they’re ready?”.

A lot of smart CEOs think:

Because buyers go through a journey:

→ First, they don’t even realise they have a problem.
→ Then, they start to feel the pain but don’t know how to fix it.
→ Finally, they look for solutions - and go with the one they already trust.

That trust isn’t built at the finish line. 
It’s built at the start.

The brands that win are the ones guiding buyers before they’re ready to buy.

They create content that educates, challenges, and sticks.

So when the time comes to make a decision, there’s no decision to make.

Are you showing up early enough?

People don’t buy specs. 

They buy stories.

Most businesses talk about what they do.

The smart ones talk about what it means for their customers.

Because people don’t want storage. 
They want music anywhere.

They don’t want software. 
They want more productivity.

They don’t want consulting. 
They want business growth.

If your marketing isn’t landing, ask yourself:

Are you selling features?

Or are you selling the dream?

Your buyer isn’t looking for a new truth.

They’re looking for proof they were right.

That’s why “we’re the best” falls flat 

And “people like you achieved X” lands. 

It’s confirmation bias. 
Humans trust what matches their beliefs and ignore what doesn’t.

Use it ethically, then earn the right to stretch their thinking.

Start by mirroring their worldview in plain language.

Name the value they already hold.
(“speed over features,” “quality over price”).

Show receipts that fit that belief.
(named example, specific outcome).

Only then introduce the next step you want them to take.

Run this field drill over 7 days:

List 3 beliefs your ICP already holds. 

Pick one.

Publish one post in this structure: 

belief → receipt (named example) → next step.

DM 10 warm connections who engaged with a simple “worth a quick compare-notes call?”

Measure only three things: 

Saves, qualified replies, and booked calls from existing connections.

If those lift vs. last week. 

Roll the structure across the team and keep the language bank.

And suddenly, everyone wants it.

That’s the Scarcity Principle in action.

When something becomes limited, our brain lights up.

We don’t want it - we need it.

But here’s the thing...

Scarcity only works if what you're offering is actually valuable.

A boring newsletter with “only 100 seats”?
→ Still boring.

A mediocre offer with a deadline?
→ Still mediocre.

Scarcity doesn’t fix bad messaging.

It amplifies what’s already there.

→ A strong offer + scarcity = urgency.
→ A weak offer + scarcity = desperation.

If you’re gonna use scarcity, make sure the thing you’re offering is worth fighting for.

Or else?

You’re just the last lukewarm soda on the shelf.
