I transformed from a curious software engineer to a strategic leader, guiding massive teams at Microsoft, Yahoo, Walmart Labs, and startups. Along this journey, I generated over $2.3 billion in revenue. But it wasn't always smooth sailing.

My quest began with questions about management, innovation, and leadership, leading me to an unexpected discovery - emotional intelligence. It sparked a new realization; traditional corporate management training teaches frameworks, not leadership. That's why I created Taha's Method, a unique approach focused on leading yourself before others and applying management frameworks rooted in human principles.

And boy, did it work!

In 6 years, I led from 0 to 250+ team members. To date, I have coached over 600+ professionals, including those at Google, Netflix, Oracle, Microsoft, Meta, Intuit, Yahoo, and startups, helping them to secure management as well as IC roles (Principal+).

At Microsoft, I saw three kinds of senior engineers. 

The first were the Masters.

They were the best technicians I had. 

Flawless code. 
Deep systems knowledge. 
The kind of engineer you begged to review your work.

But most of them were stuck at L64 for a decade.

They stayed in the code. 
Their reach stopped at their fingertips.

They blamed managers for not making them bigger than they were willing to become.

The second were the Heroes.

They ran toward outages. 
Took the hits. 
Brought everything back online.

And the team leaned on them. Too much.

The mess returned, and the Hero was there again in the middle of it.

They absorbed complexity. 
They multiplied reliability. 
They did not multiply successors.

The third were rare. The Challengers.

In calibration discussions, it took 30 seconds.

The most dangerous person to work for is a first-time manager.

Not because they don’t know what they’re doing,

But because no one punishes them when they get it wrong.

For six months, every misstep gets wrapped in gift paper labeled “growth.”

And you?

You’re the ribbon they pull apart.

Every new EM goes through the same phase:

• Break the silence
• Practice discomfort
• Prove you're a leader: "give tough feedback"

So they go looking for something to fix.
Even when there's nothing to fix.

In September, three new clients came to me.

Each on a PIP, all under first-time managers.

The best engineer on the team is like salt.
You don’t notice them.
Until they’re gone.

No big goodbye.
No incident.
No drama.

Just... friction.

PRs bounce around.
Standup feels heavier.
The sprint goal slips, but no one names it.

Someone blames shifting priorities.
Someone else says it’s dependencies.

No one mentions the name that’s missing.

Because no one realized they were the one holding it all together.

They weren’t loud in meetings.
Didn’t “drive the vision.”
Never showed up with a 5-point plan and a Notion doc.

They just made everything... smoother.

Caught the edge case.

Engineers say they hate DSA.

“It’s irrelevant.”
“It’s academic.”
“No one uses red-black trees at work.”

Bullsh*t.

You do not hate DSA.
You hate what it makes you feel.

Slow.
Stupid.
Exposed.

It drags you into problems where you cannot hide behind frameworks.

Where your fancy IDE does not save you.
Where the question does not care about your title, your tech stack, or your years of experience.

And suddenly you are alone with the voice.

“You are not good enough.”
“You have been faking it.”
“Everyone else figured this out years ago.”

So you avoid it.
Or mock it.

Engineers blame DSA because blaming themselves is too painful.

🌿 When You Set Boundaries, Expect Resistance — Not Everyone Will Celebrate Your Growth
When you start saying no, walking away from manipulation, and protecting your peace — some people will not take it well.
They may:
* Give you the silent treatment to punish your independence
* Play the victim to make you feel guilty
* Launch a smear campaign to discredit you
* Use gaslighting to make you doubt your reality
* Cross your limits on purpose to “test” you
* Insult or threaten you when control slips away
* Triangulate by turning others against you
* Or use subtle emotional abuse and guilt-tripping to pull you back in
This backlash doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong — it means your boundaries are working. 💪
But staying firm in the face of such reactions can be deeply triggering. That’s where support makes all the difference.
As a counsellor and coach, I work one-on-one with individuals who are learning to stand strong, stay consistent, and heal while setting boundaries. Because wisdom lies not just in creating boundaries — but in maintaining them with clarity, compassion, and courage. 🌱

Body: When a boundary is crossed, most people focus on what to say next. But the real power lies in how you reset yourself first.
A boundary violation doesn’t just challenge your mind — it shocks your nervous system. You might freeze, fawn, or explode, not because you’re weak or overreacting, but because your body feels unsafe.
That’s why before you “communicate your boundary,” you must first regulate your system. I often guide my clients through a 3-step emotional reset that helps them reclaim calm, clarity, and choice:
1️⃣ Ground the body – Remind your nervous system that you are safe. 2️⃣ Name the wound – Acknowledge what happened without self-blame. 3️⃣ Reclaim your power – Respond from self-respect, not reactivity.
Because you can’t set a healthy boundary from a dysregulated state. You can only do it from a grounded one.

🐈 Cats are masters at boundaries. They model self-respect,emotional regulation, and clear communication in ways humans can learn from deeply. Here are some personal healthy boundary lessons humans can learn from cats:

🐾 1. No Guilt in Saying “No”
Cats never apologize for saying no. If they don’t want to be touched, they walk away — calmly, unapologetically, and without overexplaining. 
Human takeaway: You don’t owe anyone constant access to your time, energy, or body. It’s okay to decline without guilt or justification.

🌙 2. Rest Is Sacred
Cats nap unapologetically, no matter what’s happening around them. They know that rest isn’t laziness — it’s renewal. 
Human takeaway: Protect your rest. You function best when you honor your body’s need for downtime.

🧭 3. Energy Discernment
