Daniel is a Senior Software Engineer at Google, where he tech-leads, designs and builds forecasting & pricing systems for ads worth billions of dollars. These are distributed systems that run on thousands of machines, process terabytes of data per query and combine Machine Learning modeling with game-like simulation of tens of thousands ad campaigns - all happening in real-time to enable thousands of concurrent users of buying tools like AdWords and DBM.

Daniel wields a rare combination of deep technical skills, a user-centric drive and an ability to align multiple teams towards a common goal - launching and landing high quality cutting edge products.

Daniel co-founded a tech startup that brought machine vision to the consumer photo space 10 years ago, he was an invited speaker at an ML dev conference in Zurich and speaks at startup events regularly. He holds multiple patents with Google, is published in a peer-reviewed ML journal from his time at IBM Research and is a Google Code Jam on-site finalist.

At Rocket.Chat I was responsible for all open source community touch points like Forums, Github, Public Chat channel and many others. I provided technical support, issue and PR triagging, investigation and escalation. I helped foster community growth and healthiness by hosting meetups, enrolling and participating in world wide events for booth work or talks.

I also created and promoted content and developed projects that provided guidance on how to deploy, use, configure and integrate Rocket.Chat  with tools like Botpress, Mautic, OpenAi ChatGPT and others.

With Rocket.Chat's participation in Google Summer of Code, I had the opportunity work as a mentor in 2022 and 2023 on researching and improving chatbot connectivity delivering groundwork to scalable bot connector for Rocket.Chat that is used as a boilerplate for other integrations and best practices.

As the Corporate Manager, I lead the quality efforts, creating and promoting tools and concepts like Business Intelligence and Data Driven Decisions. Developed and integrated tools for supporting leaders decisions using softwares like Pentaho, Metabase and Jupyter. I also designed, configured and deployed a Digital Telephony system for all the operational Units (Health Insurance, Hospital, Laboratories and other Health Facilities) integrated with our ticket system (as mandatory by Government regulations). I also deployed a Communication Hub that was able to provide both internal communication and customer support integrated with Whatsapp, Facebook and Telegram with a chatbot. All was done using Open Source softwares such as RocketChat, Rasa Bot Framework and Rocket.Connect.

As the IT Manager, I was responsible for structuring the IT team, and to improve the overall reliability and scalability of the structure. I also developed the web app responsible for interacting with clients, employees, partners and sales team, using technologies such as Python, Django and Postgres and our companion APP using Ionic. All those improvements were always following the required government regulations for the Health Insurance Agency (ANS) and delivered optimization for the companies process.
